I'm thinking about posting my game project, but I'm not sure where I should "host" my game file.

What are the free options, and the merits of those options? Is there any advantage to creating a wikia instead of using mediafire?

Yo can use the normal hosting solutions like mega, mediafire or even Dropbox. This are all very
    known and work perfectly.
If you want to have a simple plataform for postíng some information about your game wiki is a good solution, I personally prefer a blog, but if you use this option you will still have to use something like mediafire. That's why I normally use a personal host where I can upload everything I want and also have a wiki or a dev blog.

Dropbox is my preference, as you don't have to go to their site to download. Just click the link and the download starts... which means no adds or viruses and whatnot.
