where's Ash's dad??

Hey, maybe I'm just crazy--no, I'm sure this is an illogical thought, but you know the episode where Ash's Charizard faces off against a man's Poliwrath? (The Poliwrath has a championship belt.) Twice in that episode I thought Ash referred to the man as "Dad", which confused me until I realized I'd misheard upon viewing a repeat. But, it still sticks--that kind of guy is who I imagine Ash's dad is.

For Ash's dad being Giovanni or just some guy--well, maybe it's wrong to do this, but plot twists that have any serious subject matter (I don't mean "lose the tournament" serious, or "we have to rescue X", which happens quite often) just aren't something I'm seeing with Pokemon. If Ash's father is dead, they'd probably have to really euphemize it. I think it's more likely that Ash's father is some trainer.... and, since Pokemon doesn't seem to have much in the way of those kinds of revelations (except maybe if it's revealed in a movie), I suspect it isn't someone he's met before like Lance

Giovanni seems unlikely because you think that if they knew that, the writers would want to try to develop the Boss's character, make him less strict and cunning at times, instead of the 1D that I've seen him as. (But maybe I'm misjudging that?) Most likely of course is that they'll never bring him up. It's not like they'll ever have to 'play that card'; they're doing fine with new people and new Pokemon and new mini-plots every week. (They could keep going forever with that if they wanted to I suspect, especially with those new DS games coming up.)

It's been awhile since I touched this topic. Let's see here...

Ash, I am your Father: First of all, it is STILL possible for Giovanni to be, until the show says otherwise. Ash's Mom rarely talks about Dad, so maybe she's sheltering him from the truth. Or maybe Giovanni isn't aware of it. That's always a possibility.

Dad is God: Ho-Oh being Ash's father is just... wrong. The sheer physics of it are mind-boggling, and I would sooner avoid that theory altogether. I think Pokemon would as well, being a 'kids show'.

Game Colors: Red is just a reference to Ash's default name in the Red version. Ash is even a selectable name in the beginning of it.

Dungeons and Dads?: Lance being Ash's father would sound realistic except of his... AGE! The guy's only like 5 or 6 years older than Ash. Well, you get the idea.

Out of ALL of the characters that we've met, the only one that is still likely to be Ash's father is Giovanni. There is no other that fits. At least, not yet...

Ash and his friends find themselves resting by small river inside a forest. Suddenly, Brock stands up, looking very serious. Ash quickly notices this and says, "whats wrong?". Brocks eyebrow twitches, "Ash, I have something to tell you...". Ash looks a bit worried and replies, "what?". "I AM YOUR FATHER!" Brock shouts out, tears come to Ashes eyes as he says "DADDY!" and hugs his long lost father, Misty vomits behind a rock.

I think there is a possibility that Elite Four Trainer Bruno is Ashes father as they both have the same spiky black hair and brown eyes

There have been rumors that Ho-oh is the reincarnation of Ash's Dad. Or something along the lines of that. It could be true, for Ash has already seen Ho-oh in numerous places.

Ho-oh also seems to show Ash which "path" to take in his life. First, Ho-oh was somewhat leading Ash out on his journey to become a trainer in the first episode. Also, Ho-oh appeared and showed Ash the way to Hoenn.

So, IMO, I think Ho-oh does have a connection with Ash's missing father. ^__^

I think his father might be flint. it would make sense because ash doesnt have a father and brock doesnt have a mom so then Ash and Brock could be brothers if flint and Deila ketchum got togther. Also ashes mom could have kept her origanal last name and married Flint.

Actually in a special that will supposedly air next year, You get to meet Brock's mom.You can find this out on www.serebii.net

I hrard his dad was Givoanni and I believe it may be him.

I do not believe that. I doubt Giovanni would want J&J, and Meowth to pester his own son. I think that would change the entire premise of the show on TR's part.

I say this is Ash to know and for you to not be nosy!.

why are you posting in a nearly 3 month old thread! are you trying not to follow the rules on purpose!?

I was wondering that too, cause that against the rules.

BTW, I think Ashs father left his family or is prob six feet under, if you catch my drift (dead). No self respecting father vanishes and doesn't call or write for years.

Many Possibliltys about who ashs dad is but i think its Professor oak as they have always seemed close when they are together and they know alot about each others lives

but if you think about it couldnt be giovanni as ash's hair must be the same colour as his fathers because his moms is brown maybe oaks hair use to be black

In the movie Pokemon 4ever, prof. Oak goes back in time and is known as Sam, and he has *brown* hair.

Oh boy. Even though four posts today were made, this thread's well over a month old. Jeez, we mods are beginning to sound like BROKEN RECORDS! Stop reviving threads a month older (or over a month) from the date in which you want to make your post. It's easier than memorizing the alphabet when you were in kindergarten! O_o All right, I'll shut up, lol. Just remember! *sigh*
