I liked the idea of a trainer who only controlled 1 type of pokemon (That wasn't a gym leader), They have completely murdered Brock's Rock Type persona. Togepi + Azurill almost did it for me, but she got gyrados, so she's always gonna be a water trainer to me. Jessie almost managed it, but Wobb destroyed her Poison type :(

He really would have, it would've been so cool if he stolen a Pokemon. But they won't let them steal and get away with it in the anime *sigh*

Because game canon =/= anime canon.

Plus, if Silver was a rival, the show would actually be cool.

yeah. and that's why the anime sucks compared to the games.

yeah. which is why the anime creators are complete idiots. Silver was such a cool character, he'd improve the entire anime by like five times. Which would make it more popular. which would make them more money. It's a no-brainer. You'd think they'd at least have put him in legend of thunder, considering as it starred anime forms of both gold and crystal, but even then he fails to show.

at least brendan got a couple of cameos, but it wasn't nearly good enough. I kinda wish they'd ditch ash and co. and go focus on the good characters... liek chronicles, only longer-lasting.
 
Gary just showed up in a Diamond and Pearl Episode.
He is a researcher now not a trainer, but he seems to be wandering the shinoh region now.
 
Gary followed his grandpa's steps. So you can't see him on D/P episodes nowadays. But you can see him sometimes on some D/P eps.
 
I like Paul and Gary, but i think gary's better ^^. Paul is a better rival for ash though... Gary has better pokemon XD

For ash paul's a better rival, but a better character is Gary =D
 
Oh Gary shows up. I saw him on a shieldon episode. He isn't really Ash's rival anyone... =[ But I was happy to see him.

The best episode ever would be a Gary vs Paul episode IMO haha. I hope that happens along with a May vs Dawn episode
 
I remember him appearing in the recent Shieldon episode.

On a side note, I think Paul was a fantastic idea, including his, character, personality, and everything. It clashes with Ash's personality making it the perfect rival. Its genius.
