Where's my sprite?

I created some custom overworld sprites to use and then copy pasted them over the old images. When I went to test them ingame, I was invisible. (Also, although my main question is how to get my sprite to show up, the game crashed when I brought up the start menu.)

You should post your custom sprites so we can see what's wrong with them.

These are the sprites, I used the Red sprites included with essentials as a base, and edited them with Paint.net.

Do you make sure to let the game know which character you are before you start, not just starting after the opening (Which usually determines your character)
