Where is technology heading?

In the past decade or so technology has progressed so far we've managed to create phones that work on the go, we've managed to create machinery that can track your movements and apply the data to video games and even managed to replace that horrible dial-up internet.


Based on what we've witnessed in the past decade where do you think technology will head next?

Just like in the television and the movies.
Humans are getting more smarter and that means more new smarter things.

My guess is real-time video/voice/text chat. We already have these, but I think they'll become commonplace instead of a niche thing.

I think with the automobile, we will continue to strive for more hybrids and eventually replace gasoline altogether since it's so wasteful and damaging to the environment. Or maybe I'm just an idealist. I also think twocows' thought of real-time video/voice/text chat will become more commonplace. I just hope this "3d with glasses" phase dies out...

I think eventually houses will care for and clean themselves giving us way mor eleisure time after work. Or if were women- more time to slack off

The 3d with glasses is already starting to die, i got the new evo 3d, from HTC.... that phone is amazing, hi-def and 3d, with no glasses! i give it 30/10!!

Star Wars like holographic chat, I'm thinking. It's probably about phones...communication etc.
