The egg came first

I have read something about this and according to it the egg came first and it was laid by an animal that doesn't look like a chicken at all.:)

Well, if you want to be scientific then it was the egg that was laid by a chicken-like ancestors that was closely related enough to still breed with chickens but not technically a chicken. So the egg. But we'll never know for sure, will we?

I'm with you. Exactly what I was thinking. Two not-quite-evolved-yet-chicken-things mate and lay an egg. Each time, the egg is slightly more chicken like, so the first 100% chicken started out as an egg.
