2nd Gen Which generation do you prefer? :)

Sorry, but my heart will always be with the first generation. xD I grew up on the first generation. The first game I played was Red Version. I fell in love with it. And, even though I knew they were all basically the same except for a few Pokemon here and there- because of Red, I went out and got Blue. Then, I was first in line when Yellow came along. (Oh, how much I loved having Pikachu follow me around!) I was thrilled to play Gold, Silver and Crystal, too. But, to me, it was a bit too much. Too many Pokemon (come on! It was hard enough trying to catch 150!!). I liked the night/day concept. But, I honestly (don't hit me!) didn't like the story line. It kind of bored me. I liked the 1 gen. story line of how your rival was your next door neighbor. Seemed more realistic to me. It was simple, yeah. But, I liked that. [=

As far as the third generation goes; that's about the time I stopped playing. I got Sapphire and Ruby. I beat them once. And, then, shortly after- I just stopped playing. I'm sad to report... I've never even played Leaf Green or Fire Red. Sapphire and Ruby were okay but... they just weren't the same.

Yeah, and one thing I loved about the first generation that third and forth gen ruined was Mew, the most mysterious pokemon ever, but then came the "Nintendo event" and "Arceus" and now he's gone with the wind. They need a storyline event with Mew or a whole generation towards Mew to find out his secrets!

I prefer the 2nd generation of Pokemon because Jhoto took you back to Kanto again. I thought the story in the game was really good and unique! I had more fun playing Crystal version than my Yellow version. =D

Oh, man. The 2nd generation is the better of the two by far. Sure, I do remember getting Red, and then playing from morning until dinner (did I even have lunch that day?), and then for multiple hours on end for days and days until the 2nd gen was released, but there's just something about the off-colored graphics the 2nd gen gave that just added to the appeal. Crazy as it sounds, the graphics of the 2nd gen games are far better than the 4th gen. When playing the 4th gen games, it just doesn't feel like Pokémon, but when playing the 2nd gen (and even 1st, in this matter), you know you're playing a Pokémon game. If ya get what I'm sayin.
