Which Generation I Gym Leader is the best? Round 1

Hey! I'm Carlisle and I'm new to these boards. *Waves* Nice to meet you all~

But, on to the real matter at hand. We all have different opinions on the gym leaders of the Pokemon World, and so I decided I'd like to conduct research on who is the alltime favourite gym leader. So, welcome to my contest, so to speak.

This is the first round of my contest, which pits all of the gym leaders against eachother. However, where better to start than with Generation I, Kanto? Vote for your favourite gym leader to make sure they progress to Round 2 for Gen. I, and from there take on the gym leader voted as favourite per Generation. 4 of the following, that have the highest amount of votes, will enter the second stage of the competition for the continent of Kanto. In the unusual case of a tie for the last remaining space, the last vote between the tie-breakers will be disregarded. Voting will end on Sunday, at around 1 week from here, where I shall open the 2nd round, which is Generation II. The top 4 from there will then be added to the grand finale. This shall be repeated until all 4 Generations have had their share, and then it will go 16 - 8 - 4 - 1 in the final, to determine the ultimate Gym Leader!!!

Blaine, because he uses fire pokemon and I love the way he sets his gym up, having to quiz your way to him. I was sad in Gen 2 when I saw that Cinabar was destroyed. "Hah! You better have burn heal!"

Either Sabrina or Erika. After them I'd choose Brock. I haven't gotten to Kanto in SS yet but sadly in old games Misty's gym was just...horrible. It shamed water pokemon.

...and he's the only gym leader to date that specializes in my favorite type. XD

Blue - I don't really consider Blue to be a gym leader because he was never an official leader in the anime, which is what i'm basing this off.
Jasmine - She is a Generation II Gym Leader, from Johto... She'll be in next weeks competition ^_^

Since water type is my favorite, and she is my favorite in the anime, I must pick Misty! She simply is one of the most fantastic gym leaders I have ever had the joy of beating, taking money, a badge, and TM from in my entire history of playing pokemon!

i Wana put a vote in for Giovanni, cause he's got such a big role in Gen 1, head of TR AND the very last gym you go to. Suspense for it builds up to cause hwen you FIRST go to viridian city you go to the gym and it's locked, and the surprise comes when you got all other 7 badges ready. He also is not very easy if you arent prepared when you fight him, and his defeat not only meant the earth badge, but his departure from team rocket afterwards...

I'm voting Giovanni for pretty much every reason Lil Mudkip voted for him. I feel disloyal though: electric is my favorite type. I just don't like Lt. Surge.

If your still a great ninja and your middle aged then you probably deserve more props then a young ninja. JUST SAYING.

Anyways I would say Sabrina, but her new sprite causes me to gag. Therefore Erika wins!

I am going to have to go with Erika based on two reasons.

Although Grass aren't my top favorite, they are still in my top 3 types.

And...

I love the episode where Ash battles Erika, one of the first episodes I ever saw.

Also, i'm changing the rules/results. Instead of only 1 winning the finals for Gen. I, the top 2 in the finals will progress to the Grand Finale, which will occur after the Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh regions are done ^^
