Which Shiny will you go for first?

Is this a joke question, or is emphasis added to "if able"?

shiny pokemon will be rare. If i remember correctly, i heared numbers like one in 2000 or one in 4000.

I only caught 6500 pokemon so far, so if shinies would have existed all along from the beginning and i would have kept them all, i would now have one or two or 3 of them, maybe with plenty of luck even 4. That gives you zero control over the species. You just go berry + hyperball + curveball and hope for the best, no matter if its just a CP 15 pidgey. You will be very happy if you get to see one or two per month.

apart from those technicalities.... Give me 2000 to 4000 snorlax spawns for a shiny snorlax, please.

Not sure how you can hunt for shinies in this game, they'll just be random encounters. To be honest I hope I never come across one as it will likely flee after the first ball or freeze. Also will you only know if they are shiny once you click on them? If that's the case I don't think I'll have to worry since I rarely click on most of the trash Pokémon since I already have them.
