Empoleon is overused.

I hate it how people think like this. Does anyone ever wonder if there's a REASON good Pokemon are overused?

I don't like Infernape because he's a faster-but-weaker Blaziken, and Torterra has a 4x ice weakness it's too slow to counter.

I went with Piplup because I thought Empoleon looked the coolest. Now I have an Infernape and a Turtwig I still need to evolve, but it doesn't really matter for me because I'm not using any Sinnoh starters in my party.

I feel dumb for picking the water starters in the past gens because I did not understand pokemon too well. I actually tried to use a blastoise,feraligator and swampert as special sweepers. Silly me. Oh and I picked piplup which i will use as special wall not sweeper T.T

I chose Piplup because in my other games (all of them) i had either picked Charmander (first pokemon ever, and the best IMO) or the other fire types or grass types!

I picked Turtwig because he coevered the most gyms and elite four members.

Empoleon seemed to be the best starter for me so I picked Piplup, and because I need surf, and if I didn't have Piplup, I probably wouldn't have had a Water Pokémon in my party.

Chimchar i always choose the fire starter though i do like Piplup and its water/steel evolution
though i stuck with my Chimchar Sun Wukong

piplup i thought was the only one that wasn't ridicules.I mean who would want a monkey with fire out of his butt/remastered charmander,and the newly remastered bulbasuar.anyways piplup has good attacks all the way.beat e4 without him fainting

guess so but blaziken is my favorite pokemon of all

I probably would have chosen Piplup, but since my best friend had already chose that I decided to go with Turtwig instead. And I am very glad I did, I wouldn't trade it for any of the other starters now :)
