That's a decent summary - I'll note though that if you really like using Fire Types the choices beyond the Fire starter in DP is somewhat limited. In the end though every starter will do you fine in the game so just go with which one appeals to you the most to be honest.
That and this thread shows how people voted in general for the 4th gen starters. It's roughly even tbh there...
