Gold was the first Pokemon game I've ever played. So my favorite was Gold. (You can get Lugia later at level 70!)

Also, because I like Teddiursa more than Phanpy. Teddiursa=Gold, Phanpy=Silver.
 
I prefer Silver because it was one of my favorite colors at one point in time and Lugia just looked so cool. I think that's pretty much about it.
 
I like Silver because I prefer to wear Silver more than Gold (since I'm allergic to real Gold), so I thought of the games as actual jewlery

To tell the truth, I never actually played gold or silver. The only second gen game I have is crystal, which I got after getting ruby and sapphire. I do love it, though.
 
I prefer the game Silver to Gold, and Lugia to Ho oh
 
Since it was my first Generation II game, definitely Gold. :3
