    Yay! I just finished Earthbound!(Mother 2)

    Omg. I loved every second of this game. Its one of the very best RPG's ever, and wasnt the final boss in this game the trippiest thing ever? o_O...
    I wanted to play mother 1 and 3 afrter I finished, but I heard Nintendo is a douche and doesnt wanna release them out of Japan. That sux. I know I would buy them in a heartbeat.
     
    Well, I'm a fan of the Mother series in general, including EarthBound (Mother 2).
    Can't wait for Mother 3 to finish being fan translated though ^^
     
    I haven't played Earthbound in ages, but I really liked the game. It was really outside of the box, and some of the enemies were pretty luzly. If only the word 'emo' was in circulation before the game's release. I'd really like to beat down a "Whiny Emo Brat" enemy.

    The Mother series is one of the greatest RPG franchises out there! =D In your face Final Fantasy! XD

    Off-topicish: I beat MOTHER 3, again, and cried...again...
     
    Actually, the ROM for MOTHER 1, is prefectally legal, just look for Earthbound: Zero, Nintendo officially translated it.
    For MOTHER 3...well, there's a fan-translation coming out...
     
    Wouldn't say the rom of Mother 1/EB0 is "legal" per say... it was translated but never officially released. I guess it classifies as one of those "no one cares" roms. Nintendo's not really losing profit from people emulating, because it was never commercially released.

    Then again, Nintendo of America generally doesn't care about the Mother franchise at all, after the Earthbound flop back in 95/96.

    Anyways, I ended up importing Mother 3 from Play-Asia, and the Mother 1+2 bundle soon after when I realized NoA wasn't even going to put Mother 2 on the VC.

    If you like the Mother games, try Dragon Quest. Mother used the combat mechanics from that series but put everything in a modern setting. (Dragon Quest is fantasy, obviously)

    If Nintendo did release Mother 3 here, I think they'd be surprised by the numbers it generates. It wouldn't be a Zelda, but it wouldn't be a flop like Mother 2 ended up being here. I guess they still think it's 1995.

    (but in all fairness, I attribute Mother 2's failure in the US to it's ad campaign... c'mon now, using "this game stinks." and fart jokes to market a game?)
     
    Eh, maybe...
    Anywho, I've been playing around with PK Hack lately and find it quite interesting. I plan on changing a variety of enemies in the game and adding in odd characters.
