Who was your first Pokemon companion?

Thinking back to the first time you ever played a Pokemon game, who did you chose? For me, it was my Zenigame/Squirtle on my green game.

First game I got was yellow so I had no choice but to start off with the weak yellow hamster. When I got Blue, I chose Bulbasaur. As for the rest, Cyndaquil and Torchic, being unoriginal in my choices. I like Chikorita the most though.

Japanese names have always been more easy for me to remember since I usually play the games in Japanese (The diologue is simple enough). n.n() *L* I played yellow after green, and got Pikachuu then. Actually, I never finished green for some reason. *shrug* It was really challenging to start off with Pikachuu.()

That's true for me too.
My cousin suggested that I get a Butterfree to defeat Brock after I got Pikachu, because of Pikachu's weakness against rock/ground types.
I tried to play green (although it was in Japanese), but I dislike that game somewhat (can't remember why); I did not complete it either =P

Same here. n.n() In fact, the reason why I stopped playing green was probabaly because I liked yellow better. n.n()()() *L* I don't remember how I mangaged to beat Brock.. Knowing me at the time, I was probabaly off in some tall grass training my Pikachuu's tackle. =P *L*

Pikachu for me, perhaps Squirtle... I forgot if I had gotten Blue or Yellow first. x.O T'was one of the two though, I know that.

Yeah, Butterfree IS good for Brock... his Pokemon have a low special stat and in Yellow Butter learns confusion right off the bat. I think the nido in this version learn Double Kick early too, so that would be pretty useful. Man, leveling up before Brock is SUCH a pain! I usually start with Charmander in the old games and I always evolve to Charmeleon before facing Brock. Ember does a surprisingly good amount of damage.

My first was Charmander, though I think I restarted my game after only a little while. Then I picked Squirtle.

I had Yellow Version so I obviously had Pikachu. He is cute in the game. Sometimes in the anime he scares me though e.e

I have the Blue Version and I first picked Charmander as my Pokemon. In Silver and Gold, I picked Totodile. ^_^

the very first game I had was a red version that technically belonged to my brother, but I played it a lot. We started out with Charmander...but when I got the blue version of my own, I started off with Squirtle...mainly because Blastoise was on the box, and I guess that reasoning goes for why my brother chose charmander in his red version

My first was Pikachu beacuse I got PKMN yekkow for my first game.
Then Chrmander for red, Chikorita For Crystal and Mudkip for Ruby.

the first time I played pokemon was on my bros red verision so I choosed charmander in it....but in my own yellow verision my first pokemon was Pikachu...(*sarkastic tone* like you could choose any other...)

I'm really unoriginal. Brought red first, got Hitokage ( i think that it suits better than Charmander, though Lizard and Lizardon i'm a lil unsure about). Then I got blue and had Zenigame (I love this name ^_^). Next was Yellow with Pikachu....hmm silver was chikorita, gold was Hinorashi, crystal was Waninoko, Ruby was Mudkip (i actually prefer that to Mizoguro), and Sapphire was Torchic (again I prefer to Achanmo).
