I think J&J+B&C make the best rivals and then comes May and Drew. Maxie and Archie are made for each other.

I think I feel the same way Crystal Clair does. ^____^
I picked Jessie/James and Cassidy/Butch. They hate each other, Jessie and James do anything they can to mess up their plans, and they're always competing.
In second I think is May and "the green haired kid" whose name is Drew. ^-^ They have a pretty decent rivarly too. Ash and Gary didn't last that long, and they only battled against each other like twice. >o< I think that if the writers wanted, they could make Ash and Misty rivals, and they sorta are, but with different goals in mind, they can't really compete against each other in the same manner. Maxie and Archie, meh, um, I guess they're okay rivals, but you just don't get to see them much.

Dunno the best rivals (not taking from your list) would probaly be misty and may (both of them are just drooling on ash ^^)

i think J+J and B+C are probably the best rivals considering that they're competing at the same job. Like someone said, ash and gary only battled 2 or 3 times, may has only seen misty one time in her life, ash and misty do fight a lot but they're meant to be together so they're more of friendly rivals than rivals. Maxie and Archie are only supporting characters so their rivalries are still part of a mystery. i voted for may and drew because they're opposite genders (i don't know how that factors into it, though) and meet each other at least 1/2 of the contests.

I always enjoyed the episodes with both Ash and Gary, because of how they would always pick on each other. It was so funny back in the old days when Gary would always leave little notes behind on signs and stuff, causing Ash to explode with anger. XD
Jessie and James, and Butch and Cassidy were always amusing together, too... Butch always had the freakiest voice to me, and James made the funniest faces when he was around him, lol.

The Ash and Gary battles are great, but you can see the respect they have for eachother. One always trying to be better. It's not a rivalry as the Jeese and James, Butch and Cassidy. They are a real rivalry XD.
