Whoosh! - Lugia EX Legendary Treasures 102/113

I was gonna do a bird sound, but then I realized Lugia is not quite a bird.

I'm getting XD001 vibes from that card. I like the design but it's very cliché; I'm sure there are a few other EX cards with that same pose. Overflow looks useful, especially when battling other EX cards. I suppose if you're using a deck with a dependence on Plasma Energy than Plasma Gale would be useful, although I don't like to waste energy cards.

Seems like the type of card that would be useful if you had the right tools for it, however, if not, then it seems like it'd be hard to use.

As for the design, it looks pretty cool, but I've seen so many better designed Lugias. The head just looks funny to me, however I do like the overlapping effect they have going on.

imo this card is pretty solid. With 180 hp, its pretty hard to OHKO. For many pokemon it requires just a bit more to knock out. Keldeo Ex needs 1 more energy, kyurem needs at least 3 deoxys and a silver bangle, ect. Also being normal type opens it up to Aspertia City Gym, leaving it at 200 hp, umbreons can also be combined to further increase its hp.

In future set additions. The muscle band will allow Lugia Ex to hit 180 damage with one attack. Muscle band for 140 and 4 Deoxys Ex. Making this attacker a OHKO for all current ex pokemon.

Sure it cost 4 energy and 1 plasma to discard. But one attack to take half your prizes is insane. If they dont have an answer to Lugia Ex their next turn, they will probably go down in 2 turns or less.

Wasn't it pretty popular a short while after being considered impossible to use last year?

I think it's a potentially brilliant card if you can find a way to circulate Plasma Energy from your discard pile to it while still getting it set up quickly initially. Probably needs 4 Colress Machine in any deck that runs it.

I give it overall a 6/10 because it just takes so much going right to power it up, but once it's there it tends to make things asplode.
