Hey, do you fans of anime often sort of cry even for a character's death in a Anime series? That it was so sad it like made you kind of shed a tear. To me the one's that almost made me weep was

    1:Mwu's death in Gundam Seed
    2:Kenshin's death is naruto
    3:kenshin's death
    4:Spik's Death from Cowboy Bebop
    5:Flay's death from Gundam Seed

The Sailor Senshi's death by Galaxia's hands in the anime version of Stars. It's not like Beryl's whittling down the numbers in the first arc and rally around Moon but here, it was the futility of protecting Moon from Galaxia's might, strength, intellect, you name it and they were completely overwhelmed as she blasted each one without a second thought. The Senshi didn't care about themselves, only about their mission and for the Starlights to resume their jobs and protect Moon. They were heroes.

The empathy increased as Moon in her indignation finally succumbed to the one emotion she never thought she'd have to tap into: her own rage. And Galaxia wouldn't even give her a second glance as she forced Moon anyway with a flicker.

That scene will always resound in me. Not just seeing the Senshi fall into their real roles but that their impact is deeper than anyone realized.

Death of a flunky can hit hard as well. Both in Salior Moon: Saffiru was torn into his roles and his love for his brother while trying to stop Wiseman in the process. In the end, Saffiru finally got to his brother about the Wiseman but only in death. Despite this, at least the most honorable of the Black Moon got an honorable death as opposed to the pathetic way he died in the manga (died without getting his mind back).

Kaolinite also receives special mention from me. In the end of the Death Busters, she was humilated and ridiculed by the Witches 5, but despite her damaged image, she still clung to Souichi and the possibility they could be together. She wanted and was ready to love him. Only irony and a revamped Hotaru undid it all and created the tragedy as the object of her affections finally complimented for her efforts right before her denounement.

So yeah, those are my choices at the moment.

Uh... Chrono Trigger? There is no character called Rosette in Chrono Trigger, what you're referring to is Chrno Crusade.

    Lessee...

    Nicholas D. Wolfwood in Trigun
Dinobot in Beast Wars (not technically anime, but it WAS animated, and made in Japan)
    Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop
Piccolo's final death in Dragon Ball GT

Well, I tend to watch weird ecchi stuff, so there aren't many affecting deaths in those :P.

Of the rest... well, I cried when Misuzu died in AIR...

    I get those confused 3 times a day ;_;

Beast Wars is from Mainframe, a Canadian computer company, so I wouldn't go that far but indeed, it was a very touching death. Although that clone trick to bring him back was a cheap trick.

I'd say for something different, I'd say Dr. Fuji from the Mewtwo CD Drama. He was unique as he was in the Luddite scientist role but he was unsure with himself as he was locked in obsession with reviving his daughter, Ai, in a Moebius strip while mixed in self loathing with his work for Sakaki. As dark as his actions were, playing God with Myuutsu, and thus creating a horror for the world as the clone would be used for the Rocket-Dan, he had a noble intent for his endgame: the resurrection of his daughter. He was quite misguided and paid with his life when Myuutsu went berserk and the fact while he never achieved his true dream in heaven, he did in the afterlife. And it's pathetic but nonetheless touching and a nice character nod to the Souichi Tomoe archetype.

It's not an emotional sadness like the ones I've mentioned previous, but more cerebral and profound one. The impact doesn't lose in the conversion.
