Why are pokemon Slave to human?

    Pokemon have the power and maybe even the know how to be the most dominant race on the planet so why don't theyjust take over and be like hey you humans do the fighting see how you like it.
     
    Because they are stoopid.
     
    Mewtwo tried that in the first movie. Then he got soft. Not quite sure why nobody else has tried yet... I can imagine a weaker race being dominant if it was Psychic or some sort of commanding species, but I dunno what makes humans special.
     
    Contrary to what the anime is trying to portray, most Pokemon are only intelligent as IRL animals in the games. Humans have the bigger brains, therefore they rule.

    Then again, there's Alakazam... Maybe they're too rare to gang up?

    Yeah, I'm sure the size of your brain really matters when going against a creature that can breath fire (okay, maybe it can but if Pokemon were in the Pokemon world since prehistoric times why couldn't they just kill of the human race before they became intelligent?)

    Yeah, Pokemon can't do anything since they can easily be contained within Poke Balls. You can't forget that Pokemon raised by humans are usually stronger than wild ones, so the odds are against the little beasts. Pokemon, like animals, eat each other and tend to hang out with creatures that are the same species as them, so it would be difficult for them to organize themselves.

    Maybe Pokemon were stupider too in prehistoric times, or maybe they really did come from space after humans had gotten smarter...
     
    Perhaps it's a lack of creative power. Pokemon don't have cities outside of Mystery Dungeon canon, and right now I don't think anyone knows what to make of it in relation to the main series. If they can't come up with a counter to Pokeballs, they are at a definite disadvantage in the current time period.

    This thread looked like trolling from the outside. xP
     
    I always imagined that being bound to a pokeball tamed them so that they never turn on their trainers, but both the anime and games offer examples to the contrary. >_>

    I guess it's because they view humans as too small of a threat and they're too peaceful otherwise. XD
     
    The pokemon don't rebel against the humans, because we trap them in pokeballs. Pokeballs are like bullets to a pokemon.
     
    Well, all the smart pokémon are either:

    Content with their current life, such as Slowking, who would rather govern members of it's own kind then humans.

    Have some strict code of honor that makes them serve as guardians to humans like Gardevoir and Gallade.

    Are too small in number/dependent on humans in order to make much of an impact, like Spiritomb.

    Have better things to do (Legendaries in general).

    Don't have moving fingers, such as Bronzong and Metagross.

    Don't care about humanity.
     
    Hmm. I never really thought of this. Maybe the world they live in is too peaceful, and pokemon battles are the only kind of "war" that exists?
     
    Because pokemon is about love, friendship, and working together.

    Also *cough cough* wild pokemon are 95% bidoof, caterpie, metapod, and pidgy. Sometimes, sheer numbers can't help you. After they have become stronger, they are like family to each other.

    Also, slave is a very judgmental term. Do you call pets slaves? battles are more like a hobby, like some people enter dogs in Agility contests and dog shows.
     
    The anime and games stress that pokemon and humans are actually partners, none is working for the other.

    But, on the other hand, I think it's the fact the humans have Pokeballs and pokemon don't have Manballs.
     
    See, the thing is, the Pokemon like the humans.

    Now, when a kid grows to be stronger than their parents, they're not going to go bash them up, take control of the house and make them go to school instead, are they? There's just order, and order works.

    Also, every single canon suggests that Pokemon and humans are partners. Like the Doctor and his companion, the Detective and Rex. Now why would companions rebel against their better halves?
