There's so many pokefans around the world who owns GBA's NDS's and yet Pokemon Events are limited to only US,Austrailia,Japan,Euorupe Which bothers me alot I feel as if Nintendo is discriminating people who are not in the aforementioned territories I mean do they think that only those in the territories above can buy they're products? So are they saying people in other countries can't buy they're products? No wonder some people have resorted to cheating to get event pokemon

i cannot see Nintendo stands in third world countries lol. If they cannot make enough money out of a event's publicity, then it's not worth it. Hence the more people-full places, with more consumers.
I jsut cant wait for more WIFI DOWNLOADABLE events... anywhere, as long as you go into your mystery gift.

So you're saying any country that isn't the US, Australia, Japan, Canada, and Europe doesn't deserve IRL events?

with the new pokewalker events they are testing out pokemon events on wifi

but if they were accessible to everyone they wouldn't really by rare or special like they are now
Plus world isn't fair and pokemon isn't a global phenomenon so it will never have events in places where there isn't enough fans, where the population is more concerned with famine than it is with darkrai and arceus

isn't there a lot of threads just like this?

plus pokemon events isn't like a political right or anything it DEFINITELY wasn't discussed in the United Nations charter after WWII, its a game, events only happen in places that have a large fanbase, Nintendo doesn't have the money to put a event location in every possible city in the world.

wifi events are NOT events, they are updates to the games

plus every company works like this, blizzard entertainment gives aways special online things to people who come to their conventions.

events aren't a huge part of the game, they're cool but not necessary to the completion of the game (seeing the credits roll).

i hope people appreciate nintendo for even making events and games every two years, nintendo does not need any more ungrateful fans

Of course not. He's saying that it makes no financial sense for Nintendo to hold events there if it only means they'll lose money. :( Say what you want but Nintendo is still a corporate company. They appreciate their fans but they aren't going to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars just to make the 10 or so estimated people that'd show up to the events happy. (Especially since then people would just go "well, it went to [city far away] in my country, couldn't they bring it closer where I can actually go!?") Pokémon fans have a history of a sense of entitlement that... is a little misplaced.

And honestly, Canada has only gotten maybe one or two IRL events for all of Gen 4. Only one I can even think of, anyway (Secret Key for Rotom in Platinum which went on wifi a week later) so it's not just a sense of I get shafted just as much as people in countries not on that list.

Well, until PKLATAM Jirachi was distributed in Mexico, events were not publicly advertised with banners and the internet, you just needed to read the Nintendo Magazine and head to the EGS (Electronic Game Show, sort of mini E3, which started in the year 2001) and the Nintendo staff would give you a Jirachi, a Deoxys or whatever the current event (I think we got Eon ticket too).

Anyways, before that, I think Mexico was the easiest place in the world to legally obtain a Mew or Celebi during the GBC era, you just went to the editorial office on a saturday with your gameboy and that month's magazine and Voila!

IMHO, Nintendo (of America) started changing their politics regarding latin america when Reggie Fils-Aime became their President, and publicity and events are getting more and more common here, which then led to the propagation of events in the continet.

However, that Jirachi up there is the only downloadable "IRL" event we got for the DS, I must assume that events like SPACE C, TRU, Movie#, etc. will never be applied or redistributed in Latin America. But, as stated above by NickofTime, it is just a game, we did not sign a contract neither it is a human right that granted us those special Pokemons ... it is just luck (and marketing)

They should make it downloadable for free after 6 months or so. As a third world country citizen, I cannot have events Pokemon nor any chance to get them.
