Why do you think that James didnt bring his Growlithe with him?

actually, I feel that James really loved all his Pokemon.. perhaps even as much as Ash does to his Pokemon.. He values his Pokemon and you hardly see him hitting or scolding his own Pokemon (only Jessie does xD)..

Actually, probably more, since he doesn't like his Chimecho getting hurt while Ash lets his Pokemon battle and get hurt...

yep, in fact I just saw the "Sweet Baby James" episode last week! James Chimecho got really sick and James sat next to his bed all night practically crying! But he let it stay there and got a Mime Jr. from his grandparents in the end of the episode. I think James, unlike Jessie, actually cares about his pokemon.

I've mentioned it before, but I'll say it again: Had James not joined Team Rocket he could have been a terrific Pokemon Breeder/Trainer (teach everyone Return :)).

James does care about his Pokemon...in the 8th movie when James is being swallowed by so-called 'white blood cells', he sends out his Pokemon so they can save themselves. Jesse, however, did not do that, and let her Pokemon be eaten with her (but she may have had nto mcuh time to think about it, since they cell snuck up on her).

I just happen to think of something.. (not very sure if there's someone else who posted this too), but I feel that James didn't want Growlithe to have a bad impression of him being a bad guy? sometimes it's better to just let others not know the sad truth and continue to have that good impression ;)
