I'm wondering why posts in Fun time in Pokeland and the Wi-Fi Stadium do not count when sometimes, they attract the best. If there is any reason why or there's more ( Please don't say it........), Tell me on this thread. Maybe I will come up with a suggestion.

Because they're generally spammy and short posts that provide no real discussion.

Yes, just like trade threads for D/P/Pt don't count for posts, because there are so many posts, giving the ability to spike someone's posts.

High post count is hard to obtain, and they aren't going to give it away.

Basically having post counts in those forums would mean that a lot of people would spam to get a higher post count. Yes they attract a lot of attention, but not much thoughts are put into those posts really. Most of the time, people do break the rules in those areas, like 4 word limit, etc. (Not so sure about the Wi-Fi thread, but I've seen a fair bit of broken rules in Fun Time)

Offering post counts in those areas is basically like offering free money, I guess. For a higher post count, it's better to earn it the right way, then a way that has no meaning or thought put into a post.

Not to be rude, but the general intelligence in the WiFi forums is incredibly low. Yeah, there are plenty of intelligent people there, but there's just too much spam and not enough worthwhile posts for post count to be affected on the WiFi boards.

And something that applies to all boards where post does not count-- most posts in those sections that aren't thread starting posts turn out something like this:

    "wanna trade/wanna battle/the answer is 5!

    (message too short)"

How is that worthy of a high post count?

Indeed. Much thought must be put into a post. Posts that consist of 3 words + "(filler filler)" or "message too short" don't deserve to be counted as posts.
Besides, it'd be unfair for the real posters because there would be a rush to conduct trade and battle transactions to gain post count, as well as unnecessary chatter in that forum. (Which basically invites more spam to an already busy section of the board)

Plus, all of the wifi area is exempt from the 4 word/25 character rule, FTiP isn't, but it's also a variety area for all manner of spammy forum games and threads. Spam doesn't count.

And why does post count even matter so much? The size of your post count does not relate to the amount of respect you get. I'm sure there are many users on PC who have relatively low post counts but are valued, respected member, and that there are many who have high post counts but aren't regarded in quite the same light.

    Post count is used for:
    Posting (15 min.)
Blog access (Because staff/supporter is kinda unfair, it should be available for normal members too)
To show how active someone is (If they are banned with quite a few, it may be obvious why it's high)

I believe these are important and they are why we should keep post count, so yeahz...

Post count doesn't show how active someone is. Someone can still be active and not have so many posts. Like me for example. I have about 400 posts at the moment (I believe 397, soon to be 398). You'd expect me to have two times that amount considering how much time I spend on here. Some people, however, only post in threads they feel are important to them to post in and share their views on the subject.

Keep post count? Post count isn't involved in the Fun Time section. Post count isn't going to be added to the Fun Time section for purely that reason; posts there don't have any thought nor meaning in them. Like many people before me said, if they did, it'd be used to get a higher post count which so many people in this community SEEM to be worried about and wanting.

Yes, but it is unfair to only allow staff and supporters blog access. Plus I like my post count, it just seems cool.
But I'd like to donate, but I can't, and I know many people can't, but I'm sure they would like to be able to post in blogs. Taking away post count would just take that hope away from them.

    1. Blog access has nothing to do with the Fun Time section not having posts count, so why you're bringing that up, I don't know. It's already been explained previously why blog access is limited to selected.
    2. It's been explained already why posts in those sections aren't added towards your own post count and if you like your post count (as you just said) I don't see what the problem is.
It seems that you're starting to think that post count will be disabled in other parts of the forum as well.. Correct me if I'm wrong. It does actually show that you believe post count will be taken away from all aspect of the community. Where you got that from, I will never know. Post count isn't going to be taken away from the whole community. This thread is specifically questioning why two of the sections of the community do not allow post count.
