Why doesn't Platinum work with My Pokemon Ranch?

    When I tried to use it,it said,"Diamond and Pearl only".I was positive that platinum is now compatible with MPR.I downloaded MPR after Platinum was released so I would think that the firmware for it is updated.
    Help?

    It may be because it only works for D/P since Platinum does not have a Connect To Wii function. That's all I can think of really.
     
    Actually, it's because My Pokemon Ranch needs an update to work with Platinum; one that NOA hasn't released yet. It's already out in Japan though. Also, as for Platinum not having a "Connect to Wii" function, play Pokemon Battle Revolution with Platinum and see what happens.
     
    Yeah, I had the same problem today. I downloaded Ranch the other day, and was sorely disappointed when it said Diamond and Pearl only. I'm sure NOA is working on the update for the rest of the world, but is there a confirmed release date yet?
     
    The update is for Japan only at the moment. Hopefully Europe and US soon though!

    Okay, here are the facts.

    1. As of right now, Platinum is not compatible with the English Ranch. There are no updated versions that'll make it work.
    2. In Japan, there's an update for it that allows it to work with Platinum. So it IS possible.
    3. Someone on the Livejournal Pokémon community emailed Nintendo of America about this. They got an email back saying that there are no plans to release an update for MPR to make it compatible with Platinum.

    Now, take this with a grain of salt because the person may not have known precisely what they were talking about but as of right now, the official stance is that we aren't getting it any time soon.

    :( It sucks, I know.
     
    isnt it because on pokemon platinum there are versions of pokemon that werent there in diamond and pearl(like rotom and giratina)

    No,otherwise PBR woudn't work with Platinum.
     
    just buy a second hand copy of pearl of diamond :S but dont expect the platinum release any time soon.
     
    I think it has to be updated, so you have to get the new version of MPR.

    It is because pokemon scramble is going to be compatible with platiunum heart gold and soul silver i think....
     
    Please don't remind me about this ...
    I don't understand why NOA wouldn't release the Platinum update outside of Japan ... They're so cruel and rude.

    As for Pokemon Rumble, I don't think it will be compatible with D/P/Pt/HG or SS.
    You'll have to get special passwords to unlock different Pokemon.
     
    just get D/P...
    i hate getting your sinnoh dex complete (you can see ALL pokemon in Platinum.)
    without trading...
    it takes away half the fun and there arent any new pokemon only additions to the sinnoh dex....

    I agree. Platinum does not have this sort of function. Sorry! Save up & buy D/P. ^^
