Why is Pokemon so popular

I'm not quite sure. I became a big fan of the anime as a little girl, probably from my brothers watching it. I'm not sure WHY I liked it, I just was addicted. But it's always just been fun. Watching the shows=fun. Me and my friends playing with the figurines and pretending to me pokemon/pokemon trainers=fun. Playing the video games=fun.
I like to succeed in games. Maybe thats why I like the games, I'm always succeeding. Caught a pokemon, pokemon levelled up, pokemon evolved, won a battle. And theres such a big selection of pokemon to train and get attached to (Yep, I get attached to little pixels on a screen).
But pokemons been and addictive love for me since I was little, and i've been crazy about it for more then half my life. I grew up with it.

Plus theres all those goals you wanna complete xD. Catching them all, defeating gym leaders, gettting pokemon to lv.100, becoming the strongest trainer, etc.
 
Pikachu. Mostly everyone I know will say pikachu whenever I mention pokemon. Also its the old episodes and old games (1-3 gen) and now it's becoming even more popular with the release og Heartgold and SoulSilver.
 
Well the way i see it, yeah it's a great rpg, but its popular because of the idea behind it..capturing wild animals and making them beat the s*** out of each other lol
 
It's a scientific fact that everyone has a part of the brain which loves to capture amazingly powerful creatures in tiny red and white balls to then battle with other such creatures.
 
I think it is purely because of it's replay value and entertainment in the games. The games just have so much to do to battle, collect, and everything. There is just s much to do in the games and it's ease to pick up and play. That's why I think it's so popular.
