Why not make flinch work on "opponent's next move"?

This way, flinch is more viable and not restricted away from slower Pokemon? What do you guys think?

Eh, I don't see it. Because flinch carrying over to turns would mess a lot of stuff up. And slow pokemon can exploit flinch with things like Paralysis, trick room, and tailwind.

Do you mean have it only happen on the opponent's next move, or have it happen on the opponent's next move if the Pokemon moves second?

Honestly, I could see something that's not exactly flinching, but similar that would work with this, logically. I mean in the game there's lots of thinking between moves, a long pause, etc., but it's meant to represent a fast-paced battle. Even if the other Pokemon is slower it will take advantage of a flinch. I could see it giving the slower Pokemon the first move in the next round. That would make the flinch make logical sense, without making it sound weird.

    ^This.

But Honestly I am surprised they haven't added something to help slower Pokemon in the Flinch aspect I was actually thinking of this Last night when Playing White 2 and noticing that my Patrat would always be the slower in battle and wishing it could make the Opponent Flinch the next turn.
