I sorta did the same thing, I have a list of movesets and such that I want to do, but I'm probably just going to RNG my UU team first since I've been meaning to do that for a while. I might rebreed some of the stuff I've already EV'd like my Metagross because it has terrible IVs and that's going to bug me.
 
I think i just RNG'd my first EV'd pokemon im not sure though lol

Looking for some help - and Google hasn't been much use. Trying to grab my SiD for pokemon platinum but havent yet caught any shinies... any advice? AR codes etc? or is it impossible?

Quickest and easiest way is to either get an AR yourself or find somebody with one that will find your SID for you.
The only other way is to chain 5-8 shinies and use their IVs within RNG Reporter's "Chain to SID" applet to find your SID...or you can just wait and hope you find one in the wild.

I do have an AR - just dont know the next step!

Consider me something of a dunce at this stuff...
 
You just need the code that works for whichever game you need it on. Beyond that I can't really say much since code requests aren't allowed here.
 
Talk to people who RNG breed to see who they went to/what they used to find heir SIDs. There's quite a few people on here that do RNG breed, so just ask around until you get some help.

I'm trying to get a flawless Omanyte but I kept getting frustrated so I gave up. I need Frame 32/602 delay and I get the right delay but it's like "lol 598!" or "lol 604!" so I find a spread at 598/604 and hit 606/610 blah blah blah. /rant

i just havent studied up on how to catch yet, plus i dont have the right game cart to RNG abuse for the legendary birds....

thanks for the reminder though syndrome...! i should take that out. I mostly just use my trade thread for reference.

Any takers though? I could try to RNG breed you something back
