So like the thread name says, wich elitefour is the hardest one to beat? For me it's probaly Agatha the first battle against her is easy, but in FR/LG the rematch is a real pain in the neck.

=3 the lance rematch was real hard O_O my mewtwo was crushed byu his kingdra ><

Lance's Gyarados was very annoying. It thwarted my Gengar

My friend was playing leaf green and he couldn't beet His rival[he took about ten go's]!

o.O;; Honestly, I don't think that any of them are that hard...even the rematches. I mean, I was able to sweep the rematches with just a Rayquaza and a Kyogre (yeah, they're legendaries, but I use the E4 for training.)

So...maybe it's just me. o.O;; Though, of the set....may-be....Lance, even though he didn't hold a candle to the Ice Beam/Outrage setups.

Hey Arty, you forgot to add separate options for Sidney/Phoebe/Glacia/Drake in R/S and Emerald. That's quite a significant difference considering how much better the Emerald movesets are.

Anyway, what difficulties I have depend very heavily on my team, although I can't really say that I find any of them particularly hard anymore. But the one that took me the longest to beat on a first playthrough...that has got to be Steven. The only reason I won was that I placed my Skarmory to tank against his Claydol until it ran out of damaging moves and then switched in my Blaziken and Bulk Uped to the max so that it could sweep through the rest of his team. It was still a close call though, and I wouldn't have won without quite a significant stock of Hyper Potions and Revives. So yeah, Steven gets my vote.

You're right, Alter. Steven is the major pain of the three.

Although like Steven, and Lance and the rival, I see them as the Champion and thus separate from the Elite Four. The Elite Four is simply an extension of the Champion, otherwise for the simple argument, why not call them the Elite Five?

Yeah, that always bugs me. Although Lance got weaker in G/S/C and had additional weaknesses to his Pokemon instead of just to one thing, like in R/B/Y. He had more of a strength in which you had to train a lce type for him only instead of multiples.

So R/B/Y Lance would be third, second for that annoying slot.

    True enough I suppose, although the champions are in the poll options. Lance has never been much of a challenge simply because of his undying love for one of the most pathetic and overused moves in existence; Hyper Beam. All of Lance's pok?mon have always known Hyper Beam even in the old R/B/Y games which, combined with the x4 weaknesses that all of his pok?mon excluding Aerodactyl have, makes his team very vulnerable to any kind of serious offensive. Although I have to admit that his Barrier Dragonite in R/B/Y is a serious pain if you don't happen to have a special attacker handy. Its only damaging moves are Hyper Beam and Slam though, so a Haunter or Gengar (heck, even a Ghastly) can just sit there and wait for it to run out of steam. Anyhow, if I were to choose the most annoying of the actual elites then that would have to be Phoebe. Her first Dusclops in Emerald is just too annoying. I pitted by prized Blaziken against it and the battle went practically like this;

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Dusclops used Protect
    Blaziken used Blaze Kick
    Dusclops protected itself
Blaziken used Blaze Kick (A bit less than a half of Dusclops' HP is depleted)
Dusclops used Shadow Punch (About 1/5 of Blaziken's HP is depleted)
    Dusclops used Protect
    Blaziken used Bulk Up
    Blaziken's defense & attack rose
    Dusclops used Protect
    Blaziken used Blaze Kick
    Dusclops protected itself
    Dusclops used Protect
    Blaziken used Blaze Kick
    Dusclops protected itself
Dusclops used Shadow Punch (Again about 1/5 of Blaziken's HP is taken)
Blaziken used Blaze Kick (Dusclops' HP bar is reduced to the tiniest little sliver of red)
    Phoebe used Max Potion

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And hey presto, I'm out of Blaze Kicks (courtesy of Pressure) and have to retreat. Too annoying. >.<

So yeah, Phoebe would definitely be the second-most pain in the behind.

You always have to top me, don't you Alter? Hehehe.

I know, you're right but I was thinking more of a semantic point of view, considering how distant the Champion is to the Elite Four or should be.

Phoebe? No question there, but it's Pressure that makes her a pain really. I think Koga and his Forretress and Crobat are the main pain in G/S. They can't die! And those special effects can mount up after a while with Spikes and Toxic.

    Just...augh.

But of course DW. It's one of the greatest sources of amusement in my life. You wouldn't begrudge me that, would you? XD

And concerning Phoebe, the major part of her annoyance capability is definitely the way she attacks your PP, both by Pressure and by her Banette's Grudge attack (Gah, I hate that move >.<) making perfectly good pok?mon unusable because they don't have any attacks left, just as the real elites come into play (Come on, Sidney is a complete pushover). As for Koga, he can be a major pain, but a good special attacker can sweep through his whole team, with the possible exception of Crobat. He didn't even put up a proper fight against my Typhlosion. All I had to do was stick it in there and go crazy with Flame Wheel. XD His Crobat did some pretty nasty damage though, Double Team combined with high defenses can do that. In G/S I have to say that Karen os the most annoying. Her Umbreon can tank like there's no tommorow. Throw in the Sand-Attack/Confuse Ray combo she likes to use with that and you have some major annoyance and PP depleting potential right there. Her Houndoom is pretty tough too.

It took me about 15 goes to defeat the R/B rival. Then with G/S/C's Lance, it took 20 goes, as (on my old file) all my pokemon had type disadvantages to his, my poor Feraligatr kept getting sizzled by Dragonite's Thunder.
