i know about wifi and things but how does it work??? also what do you need for it to work

wireless router that provides wifi or special nintendo usb wifi thing. you need internet to power wireless router. i think nintendo wii acts as a wireless router, not sure though

I'll assume you're after the Nintendo DS response. For the DS you need a conenction to broadband. You can either get a router that is configured to use WEP or get a Nintendo USB dongle.
