Wii Remote Help?

My Wii Remote doesn't work for my Wii for some reason. It has brand new batteries but when I turn my Wii on and it says to press A I press it and press it but nothing :/. I think I can sync my Wii Remote to my system to make it work but I lost my handbook for my Wii so can someone help me? Thanks

You probably need to synchronize it with your Wii. Just hit the sync button on your Wii and take the battery cover off of the Wiimote and hit the red button.
