4th Gen Will D/P confuse me? :P

D/P, on GBA? A game made exclusively for DS? Well... no.

Also, what did you mean by $40 for each game? It's not like you're gonna buy both.
 
I never played the second (G/S/C) generation games, and I havent exactly had any problems XD I actually played the 3rd generation (R/S/E) before the 1st and the 4th.
 
At pokemon events I always see like little 6 to 10 year olds playing the game, so if they can grasp it, I don't think you'll have a problem. Just learn as you go! ^_^
 
It would be helpful to scan the Pokedex prior to playing though, so you know what you're dealing with.

To be honest, I thought it was more complex than R/S/E.
But it's pretty easy to catch on to, so you'll be fine.
