Will Piplup ever be Empoleon?

I think it will evolve, I want it to unlike some of Ash's pokemon.

Nah, they advertise Piplup too much to want it to evolve and it's out almost as much as Pikachu. Compare Piplup to Torchic, it's just not the same.

I don't think they will, and hope they don't. I personally don't like Prinplup or Empoleon, they just don't have the same pokemon feel like previous starter forms. Maybe they just need to grow on me more, It took until a little while ago before I was even okay with Chimchar and Turtwig, but regardless Dawn looks like she's going for the cute appearence anyways.

Who knows? Time will tell. Piplup might evolve or not.

I would agree. My guess is that Piplup would stay at it's current state until DP is starting to end. I would expect it to evolve and eventually become a Empoleon.

That's my take, as well. They'll take their sweet time, since D/P is really its sweet time. With all my issues with the series (the writing, the characters, animation), I couldn't care less if Piplup evolved, or not.
