Windows vs Linux (Which one do you prefer?)

    As we all know these two are the most popular OS in our time.. so which one do you like the most?

    -I like Linux! Also i'm using openSuSe Linux on my PC! It's great!

    yeah there is actually a large number of people here who use Mac. The actual number of people who use Mac is larger than those who use linux, so you might think of putting this into the first post.

    Yea but the number will look the same as mind. I would vote for Mac it being the only oppion other then Windows. How about you change it to which would you prefer Windows or Linux. You can then see if Mac users perfer Linux to Windows.

    I've been studying the stock of Microsoft and the Stock of Macintosh, and even though Microsoft stock costs more, Macintosh is making more sales.

    Companies are starting to buy Macs now, since they have a more User friendly interface and people don't need to call the companies IT Department to download a file.

    If I had to pick between Linux or Windows, I would probably have to go Windows
     
    I've seen your topic supertail and i will not add mac option for this one because this Poll is only about Windows and Linux!!! I really don't care if you like Symbian or Mac or whatever else..

    This is only between Linux AND Windows OS!! Keep in mind that!

    Well then take out the part about Linux and Windows being the top OS in our lifetime, because Linux is obviously not at the top.
     
    And what makes you think that... imho Win Linux and Mac are 3 the most popular os.. :P
     
    No they arnt windows and mac are. We allready have thins in the OS thread
     
    ok and who in your opinions are 3rd most popular os? i think linux... or at least unix like.. well mac is unix like too.. but.. hehe
     
    well I happen to be looking at the demographics, marketing, and popularity of both my RL surroundings and most of the people I know here.

    Though if I had to choose between win or linux I'd choose Win donly because Photoshop still works on it.
     
    Photoshop works also very well on Linux!! I'm using Photoshop CS2 on openSuSe Linux and It works great! :)
     
    He's right about that. Though he really should take off them being the most popular. Lets just pretend it's in our Lifetime. I believe that in 20 years Linux will be the top.
     
    It's in our top. We really should get back to this thread though. I say Linux.
     
    Symbian OS is for smartphones. XD

    I'm a mac user, with a Windows 2000 desktop (that amazingly does run faster than my parents' Windows XP desktop), and I have used Linux in the past... but only for server installations.

    I used an old version of Red Hat, and SuSE Enterprise 9, and I must say, they're some of the best server OSes I've used. Although I've never touched a computer running OS X Server, Windows 2000 as a server, with IIS and Microsoft SQL Server, sucks. =P

    However, if I plan to be gaming (what? me, gaming? impossible! *coughcough*) or running most applications, I like Windows 2000 just fine. (It saddens me that, in a few years, most developers won't be supporting Windows 2000 anymore, though.)

    Just my two cents on non-Mac operating systems. =D
     
    You don't game? I don't like games that much too.
     
    Comparing apples and oranges much? It's a pointless argument. Windows is far superior for things like gaming and multimedia, due to the software that runs on it, while Linux provides a stable environment for applications like development and serving.
     
    I still like Linux but Windows is over hyped.
     
    ... "overhyped"? OK then, tell me what's overhyped about Windows. I don't see thousands of users jumping up and down declaring their love for Windows. How does that make it overhyped?
