    Just a question out of pure curiosity. If I was to have Leaf Green in my GBA and connect the wireless adapter, then have Fire Red playing on my DS would I be able to connect the two for trades, battles, etc?

    No. The Wireless Adapters use a different signal than what the DS gives off, so the two can't connect.
