WOBBUFFET???

O.k. i just found out wobbuffet is an uber and i found out why. But do YOU think he is. And also, is he still considered an uber if he has a move set without encore etc. ect? I mean... he's definitely the best on my team... but i don't know...

I think its his rightful place. I mean, when in the Battle Frontier and a trainer has one, it has eaily ruined my streaks.

I KNOW the blue blob is Uber.

In 2nd Gen, he was sub-par at best, but with Ruby and Sapphire, two things it received bumped it up to Uber

-Encore, which eased Prediction
-Shadow Tag, which is by far the biggest reason why it's Uber

With both of these, Wobby became too overcenteralizing in the OU Metagame, and as such, was banned from standard Play.

It jumped straight into the Ubers tier in the Advance generation mainly because of its unique ability, which utterly shatters the concept of switching and countering. Also, I doubt any experienced battler would switch in Wobbuffett if they knew the opponent could "Set Up" on them.

Once it leaves the field, you can just switch out to end the Encore.

Letting whatever your opponent switches Wobbufett for Set-up during the turn you switch.

The People of Smogon are, by far, the best competitive battlers around. They knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they banned Wobbuffett

OH MY GAWD. I was doin' the Battle Factory right?And like I was doing Lv. 50. So ,like this WOBBUFFET comes out of nowhere, so I like attack it right. And like its HP went down FRICKIN SLOW. Like those obnouxious Lv. 100's. I was like "HOMGAWDDD." It took some time to beat that blue blob. >__>

If the opponent was put into a situation where they could only use one move that wasn't helpful and/or was forced somehow (I.E. Trick), wouldn't you predict they would switch?

Also, its uber position been around since Gen III. Sure, there was the suspect thing on shoddy a while back, but that's long over and Wobba's still an uber and that isn't changing any time soon.

nope! He's uber, and that's it. Using stuff like toxic and hail helps immensely, but your probably losing a pokemon either way.

I'm surprised to find at least 2 people strongly believe otherwise...

lol use Skill Swap on Wobbuffet and then Roar it away.

Wobbuffet is a giant tank who you can't get away from and you will most certainly kill yourself fighting.
With Wish-support, it can last quite a while.

High HP, Encore and Counter/Mirror Coat can be a devestating combo, y'know.

Most likely why Smogon banned it. It was funny going through all those Wi-fi Battle Tower battles with that thing. Ooooh, great times, I tell ya.

I haven't been to ShoddyBattle since March, I forgot all about it. ^^;

In game is different from competitive play. I say Wynuant and Wobbuffet should stay a uber and Garchomp shouldn't be a uber and this is my opinion.

not really, it can't do anything to you unless you do something to him. switch out to a better suited pokemon and use your best judgment, use toxic then fly or dig or protect before he tries shadow bond. or use that move that makes it so you can't use the same move twice, i can't remember its name right now

i will admit it takes a lot of patience to beat wob though

Of course Wobbefet should be an Uber.He has a high Hp and its hard to kill him and whats more,he got mirror coat and counter to finish the job.

I think he should stay. I was arguing with D_A and Anti about it and failed totally. One thing that CAN get it down is something with Mean Look and a poisoning move. =P Crobat can take it on well. As long as you don't attack. =P

I guess every RPG needs one of them. Something so brokenly gimmicky that it rapes the metagame.
