So, I began spriting in March, and this is pretty much everything I've done from then until now. Please do not steal my sprites or the concepts of them. CC is also appreciated. (How generic am I? :/)

I've mainly been doing RSE style, but have begun to move on to DPP style. I organized them into two categories, "My Ideas" and "Other People's Ideas." The latter being sprites of fakemon used in various fangames (And a few trainers). If you're interested in my work, and would like me to help you out with a fangame, don't be afraid to PM me.

Sprites are posted from newest to oldest.

My Ideas

My attempt at a legendary. Ice/Dark.

A Normal/Ice Squirrel.

An Electric/Ghost fakemon.

A cool kitty that's my first DP-styled sprite. Merely an edit though...

A Beedrill evo, cause I can. =P

An Ice penguin. Probably the smallest and quickest sprite I've done.

A Dark/Water swordfish. It ended up looking like a bird. =P

Your average female protagonist.

It was suppose to be a griffin, but turned out to be a bird-like Hitmonchan.

Funny, when I made this I though that the concept of Solrock and Lunatone sharing an evo was original.

A hiphop gangster muffin. Sometimes with originality comes stupidity.

A Sabeleye evo. Easily one of my worst ever.

Shuckle evo. I was going for bug steel.

Nice work, I really like the peacock line. It's vibrant and colourful. Your Swordfish is very nicely positioned except I kinda get the feeling that it seems a bit under shaded. I think you should add another shade of colour to your penguin's outline, because the beak is heading toward being unable to be distinguished from the background. Hope I helped, not that I'm very good with scratches.

This fakemon is Electric/Ghost. Again, it's not scratch, but I'm getting there.

I also made some edits to the final of the three peacocks.

Wow! Considering you're a fairly "new" spriter, these are fantastic! You've captured the pokémon style perfectly.

If there was one thing, though, I don't think the Ice/Dark dog thing looks like a legendary. It'd work for a mid-pokédex wolf, but it doesn't look imposing enough for a legendary. And I think the second platypus looks a bit too flat.

Obviously, I'm not going to ask for sprites, as I'm sure you're immensely busy, but are there any tips you have for those of us starting out?

Thanks for the criticism, I think I'll edit the legendary.

As for random little tips, I'd say to take your time, you don't have to finish the sprite in one sitting.
Id also say to make sure your fakemon look like actual Pokemon.

I'm not really a new spriter anymore, but when I was, all the tutorials scattered about the web helped me immensely.

These are good for a fairly new spriter! ^^ I like the Atominor and the Squirrel one the best!

How long do your sprites normally take to perfect, then?

I take a lot of breaks, but I'd say 30-45 Minutes to get the basics down. It takes about another 15 minutes for clean-up and adding the finishing touches.

None of my DP-syled sprites are scratch, but most of my RSE ones are.

I made some edits to the legend. I think it looks more like a legendary now.

Not really, some people pick it up quite easily. A beginner could be just as good or better than someone who has been spriting for a few months, or even a year.


Anyways, I love the sprites. The female protagonist looks kind of small. The platypus looks kind of squarish. The one I like the most is the Peacock one. ;-) gl with spriting.
