    Hey guys!

I used to have crazy amounts of Pokemon cards a few years ago and i went to a bunch of Tournaments that were organized all over the country.
I had quite a good Deck, (Among my cards were Sceptile EX, Cradily EX, Scyther EX, Vileplum EX, Cacturn EX) but i was too young to make the most of it.

There was also an annual State Championship where the winner would get to travel to the World Championship hosting country and many more rewards...

One year the World Championship was hosted in Florida (that is really far away from where i live) and i was 3rd in the State Championship standings.
The sadness i was experiencing at that point can not be compared to anything else in my life :D

The actual Champion that won 3 years in a row beat me to a pulp.
My Grass Types had no chance against his Fire based deck.
I was really mad at him but we actually became good friends later on...

Are these kinds of tournaments still being held somewhere or not?

The official POP (Pokemon Organized Play) events that you want to look for are Cities tournaments (multiple tourneys per state) and you don't have to live in the city that one is in to attend), State tournaments (one per state), Regionals, and Nationals. Those are all from November to April. Then there's Battle Roads in May/June and again in September/October.

Worlds is invite only, unless you have saved up for a trip and win your way in, and I think it's usually in Hawaii.

And I have no interesting tournament stories, other than Shuppet-donk winning one of the Battle Roads I went to in June.

Ah, quite different. I so wish they would host them in Canada!
I also have no great tournament stories, I'm sort of terrible at the game itself haha. I took Gyarados to nats with a couple of special darks thrown in for a just-in-case scenario of donking with sableye, and ended up donking half my wins with it by drawing both with sheer luck. That's the best I've got.
