    Scuse me, we ARE NOT overrated. Just because we have QUALITY players like Lampard, Terry, Rooney(OK he's overrated), King and Robinson, people call us overrated?

    Other than that, I'm pulling through for the Orange Machines, and it's always nice to see Italy in the Finals.

    World Cup predictions?

    Either Brazil or Germany will take the crown. Those two have been Soccer/Football powerhouses for as long as I can remember.

    However, I'm shocked to see the Netherlands and the Czech Republic placing high in the FIFA rankings. So, they have a good shot to win.

    Maybe I'll give Italy a chance, along with Argentina and England. I will pull for Australia also, seeing that they made the World Cup for the first time in years.

    As for the USA... They will be beat worse than a dirty rug. Sorry. No repeat of 2002. They are in a tough group with two good teams, Italy and the Czechs.

    And... that's my two cents.

    That is never going to happen, the US has a few good players, but not nearly what's needed to win a Cup.

    For Group A, I see Germany and Costa Rica winning, England and Sweden will take Group B, Group C will be held by Netherlands and Argentina, Mexico and Portugal for Group D, Czech Republic and Italy for Group E, Brazil for sure in Group F with either Japan or Australia, but I myself would like to see Japan take the spot. Group G, South Korea for sure, they might have some trouble with France though, maybe France, but after what happened in 2002, I don't see it this time around, so Switzerland or France. Spain and Ukraine for Group H.

    Overall, I don't think England will make it much further than they did last time. Semis at the most would be my guess. France I really don't see having that great of a time next year. So I'd say Quarterfinals at the most, Japan/Australia...I guess Round of 16 for them. Maybe Quarterfinals, but I really don't see that.

    South Korea is a favorite of mine after what happened in 2002. I really didn't even see them getting beyond the first round, but they proved me wrong. Realistically I can see them doing as well as they did last time. If they can take out some stronger teams early on, then I can see them making the finals. Brazil no doubt will be in the final. If that happens, I don't see South Korea winning, I'd love it as a fan, but just getting to the finals would be great. So...(maybe)Italy/Germany/South Korea VS Brazil as a final for me, with Brazil taking it against whatever team they end up against.

    I like this group. I think it's harder than it looks and I genuinely think France wont qualify.
    But I'll base on quality.
    South Korea first, France edging second.

    Why are people so confident about Brazil? They only got to the final in 2002 because of a stupid goalkeeping error from an ancient English Arsenal keeper. Brazil are completely top heavy, all flair and individuality in attack but lacking in defence. 11 individuals are not a team. They'll most likely get to the semi's but it's not as straight forwards as everyone expects.

    Holland are a good time, my personal favourites to win this time round. They have youth and talent all over the place and they have a few world class players. They'll be in the final, no matter what in the summer.

    England overrated? Pfft. Don't be jealous. England's team is stronger than 95% of the other teams in the competition. Work it out. England got knocked out of the last world cup because of a flukey shot and a goalkeeping error. They got knocked out of the Euro's because of a wrong referee decision. They were knocked out in 98 on penalties, same with Euro 96. England have not been knocked out of a tournament based on a full 90 minute performance in almost 10 years. And this summer they have the best squad they've had in years. They have subs that could walk onto most teams. About Rooney, believe the hype. If you've ever watched the kid play, you'd know that he was that good. He tore the Euro's apart until he got injured. England will make the final, semi's at the VERY least. Heart says they'll win, brain says they'll lose to Holland.

    Czech Republic will be the fourth team in the final. Not much I want to say here.

    Argentina, give them four years and they'll be genuine contenders.

    France, please..

    Germany, nah. 2002 was fortunate. Lightning doesn't strike the same place twice.

    Not really worth giving the other teams any special mentions. Though, expect surprises from Togo. If Senegal can do it..

    And I know about football, I spent a majority of my youth fixated on it.

    Come on, why does no-one think the U.S. will make it? Anyone could just jump on a bandwagon thats been full for way to long, but shouldn't you support your own country?

    And all I was saying is that Soccer in the U.S. is getting better...nothing more.
     
    I'm not turning my back on the US Soccer Team. I mean, I'll support them but they are up against Italy, a long time World Cup contender and the emerging Czech Republic, which from what I heard, are a very strong team.

    Yes, the US team has been improving over the years, but they are still nowhere near the level of the European teams that have been playing Soccer since it was invented.

    Maybe we'll be shocked again.
     
    The US has a half rate team...and against Italy? There's no way they'll make it out of their group matches. If they do better than last time...I'll start to question my faith in the game. Most Americans couldn't care less about the cup. In 2002 I heard almost nothing about them on the news until they faced Germany. All of a sudden it's 'OMFG, US LOVES football, we're the best because we say so...!' ...and when they lost, no one cared.

    The game may be getting better in the US, but they're still way off from where they need to be if they even want to think of winning.

    Yeah, America SUCKS at soccer (futbol). And seeing as Football and Basketball and Nascar are the big sports around here, we don't care enough about futbol to get good enough players to make it to the cup.

    Being brutally honest, it's pretty disgraceful that USA suck so much at football. They're one of the biggest countries with a massive population and a crap load of resources to match. They have the potential to produce a world class team but they don't. They only have themselves to blame too. Football is the biggest and best sport in the world yet they can't be arsed to take it seriously. I have no pity for them because of that so they deserve to suck.

    Just like how we whip everybody in basketball (cept this year >_O) Everybody whips us in soccer. I love soccer though, and I love playing it...but, neh...I like football to.

    We did try, however, one year to make soccer our main sport when Pel? was playing. But no go, football is too big here.
     
    actually USA won 4th place in the first ever world cup?
