Sometimes, we might have a piece of technology in which we feel is among the worst products, or such a device that we own has made a "worst product" list.
Often, products are deemed to be bad for a variety of reasons, among them being lack of reliability, use of highly proprietary parts, design decisions that deviate so far from the norm, among others. Some of us might actually have a good opinion of such technology despite these shortcomings.
What tech products have you had, past and present, would be considered among the "worst" of all time? What was your opinion of such products?
In the summer of 1999, I was given an old IBM PS/1 system from 1990, which was my first PC compatible system. I had lots of fun with it in the few years that I had it, but after giving it up, I then found out that it was among the worst PCs of all time, notably because the system's power supply was inside the monitor, making it virtually impossible to swap displays, not to mention the floppy drives and hard drive were of a proprietary design. In 2007, this product was #5 on PCWorld's "10 Worst PCs of All Time".
Another "worst product" I had was Windows Vista, on a laptop that I had from 2011-2013. I didn't think Vista was that bad the more I used it, but eventually, I upgraded it to Windows 7 shortly before 8 came out, and that laptop died in the summer of 2013.
One product I really did have a bad experience with was the "As Seen On TV" EZ Eyes Keyboard. I bought it for my mom so that she could see the letters easier, but using it was such a pain. The thing kept slipping and sliding around the desk, and even my fingers would slip around the keys and I'd type things wrong constantly. I still have it since I have no other spare USB keyboards on hand.
