Totally reminded by the munna c-gear skin promotion.

Anyways, recently (or maybe not so recently, whatever!), the second Unova guide book was released. It contains a code to get a Munna c-gear skin as well as large posters of all the Pokemon and more. Some of you may have already got the first guide book or the collectors edition version of it, so I was wondering whether you plan on getting the second one or brought it already!

With the Internet containing all the information already pretty much, do you think it's worth getting the second one too if you already got at least one of the first two? If so, did you purchase it straight away? Or even if you haven't got one already, do you plan to get one in the future?

Also, if you have any of the Unova guidebooks, do you actually use yours? Could you find yourself using it?

I saw it in the stores yesterday and had a quick look, I thought it was just a new version of the Pokedex, so I wasn't planning to get it - but if there's more to it as you said, I might reconsider!

I'm not too sure about this, because in the past I got guide books for everything, but with this game I didn't need the first one... Also, I feel this may be a waste of money if it's just a Pokedex... Two books worked with HGSS, but this feels more like a scam for money than anything else.

Why yes, I'd totally buy one of these due now due to the fact that now that the B/W guides have been out for a while, Nintendo will undoubtedly bare their strong arm and shut down sites like Bulbapedia/Veekun/Serebii/PokeBeach/Marriland/pokemopolis since they all use copyrighted material. Seems smart to me, crush the competition, win the market!

I might actually get around to buying one when it is like 3,99 on amazon tho, I like reading about stuff I know about.

Nah you can get your guide book on serebii.net It has everything.

My brother got it. IMO it's not worth the money because the Pokedex only contains data on the new Pokemon. It doesn't include any of the older 493 Pokemon even though many of them get new moves. If you have to go online to look up data for them, might as well look up the data for everybody, old and new, online.

I have the internet, best free guidebook ever. Even the Munna code will be online I bet >_>

Ill probably buy the second one, though I didnt buy the first. Its been quite awhile since I bought a guide book, since think R/S/E...*shrugs* though they come in handy, especially if your out of your home and dont have a way to access the internet! Plus, it helps support Pokemon <3.

No it's not worth getting any guidebook, when we have guides all over the internet, most of it is common sense, it's a lot funnier finding stuff out yourself then going step by step for a guide book. The Munna code will be posted some where, so no point getting it for that either, and it's not really significant anyways, since it's just a skin.

This guide which my partner and I bought was well worth it, although it doesn't have new moves learned by old Pokémon in the way that you think, it does have lists of all the items and where to get them and TMs, almost all the lists that were in the Platinum guide.
They also have a few reverse lookup lists where you can see which old Pokémon get the new abilities. These reverse lookups lists also include that for moves and give which old ones learn them too.
Another few features is a full guide to the Battle Subway and Pokémon Musicals. Looking back, we didn't really get with contests in Platinum, what goes with which mood, look or theme. It is well worth it!
I know that there is the internet...but that is hardly infallible, and pages can be edited, books can't.
