If we have full dive VR would there still be people living in real life apart from poeple who maintain the VR equipment ? I am referring to VR brain implants,BCIs or a VR chip connected to a central Ai computer not VR headsets, googles, etc? I am asking hypothetically since i know that full dive VR is still a while away

I know that we need to eat and drink etc but maybe using life support machines to take care of our bodily functions?

If you were to give a rough estimate what percentage of people would stay in the real world instead of using these devices? 25 Percent maybe

    Define "full dive".

If it is like with SAO, you'll still need people to feed those who are connected, up to the point where part of the VR environment is about remotely managing the machines that keep our IRL stuff operational so less SAO and more Summer Wars. And once that point arrives and there's enough of a critical mass of VR environment dedicated to maintaining physical operations, physical maintenance will no longer be requires for the continuity of humanity. We'll jump from Summer Wars to The Matrix.

And at that point, would we even be able to argue that we are in a VR anymore? We'd be literally back to working the land like we used to do, "with our hands". Using the VR to interact with the physical world would define it as reality, the same way we do with our senses.

All but illusions with certain functions. Time will cease humanity, not artificiality.
