    Hey I am thinking of starting a Pokemon game but now with Groudon as the main character who has a massive outburst on this new region and starts taking over, I wanted to call the game Pokemon Eruption but that is already taken by a ROM. I'm not sure if I should keep Eruption or add two words like Pokemon Legendary Eruption or Pokemon Burning Eruption or does anybody have a better suggestion?

    I'd be against the name Eruption. If you are aware of such a game, it's better you do not involve it. I mean, the creators might ask you to change it, there might by fights...Something like Twilight might turn up so...

    But both Legendary Eruption or Burning Eruption are not good choices... It'd be weird, an eruption that's burning or a legendary eruption... I bet it doesn't suit the story.

    It would help if you mention the story then maybe we could help.
     
    I personally think a good game has to do with the story, not the title. But it's not like the ROM hacker purchased rights to the title of "Pokémon Eruption". Use it if you want, but it could cause a fight. I'd suggest using an online thesaurus and find a synonym for Eruption and use it as your title.
     
    Find other words that mean similar things if you're worried. For example, you could call it "Pokémon Pyroclast" - pyroclast is the small bits of ash and rock ejected from the volcano during an eruption.
     
    I haven't really gapped together the story too much but it involves Groudon reawakening and trying to inflict a massive drought around the world and other legendaries awaking causing all natural disasters, like Suicune with high tides, Dialga with Time Corruption etc. but Groudon is the first and main one of them all, does that help with a name?

    Also its not the fights I am worried about its just like Nintendo also releasing a Modern Warfare 2, wouldn't that get confusing?
