Would you like to see new Pokemon types?

I think the creation of new types would be a bad idea. The interconnecting chain of effectiveness is so tight and fragile that a new type would probably only effect two other types tops. It would be disappointing and i already have trouble remembering that rock>ice, bug>dark, and that psychic CAN hit ghost.

I could deal with maybe one more type.
Anything more would really be pushing it.

^Yeah deffinately.

I always thought that if there's gonna be a "dark" type, then there should be a "light" type, because dark just seems like a useless balancer.

In Japan, "Dark" type is called "Evil" Type.

What the hell would they call Light Type in Japan? "Holy"? "Good"?

When it comes to the classic RPG Element of Darkness, Ghost-Type fits the bill more than Dark.

For right now I think there's plenty of pokemon types.

The number they've got now is pretty good--seventeen is enough. And perhaps further into the future it might not be a bad idea to release more new types. But for now it's good. It makes for good balance.

Well, not right now.

I think the Battle Hall is hard as it is

But maybe soon

Personally, I think just a light type addition wouldn't be too bad. But nothing else. Honestly, what would Sound be weak/strong against? They could make Light the one type that's weak to normal types; and obviously strong against Dark. It least Spiritomb and Sableye would finally have a weakness. Though I don't entirely support that idea since I have a Spiritomb. :/

I would like a Space type, for cleffairy and deoxys, weak to dark and phsycic

Light type would be super effective against dark, but also weak to dark. I don't know what else, but that's the only type I can think of. However, there are plenty types already, so there isn't really any point in making more.

I am honestly baffled at the amount of people calling for a "light" type. Why? What's so great about this "light" type to cause so many people to jump on its bandwagon? Because it's an "opposite" to dark-types? Psychics fill that role quite well as it is, as shown with Cresselia/Darkrai, Espeon/Umbreon. Also, as mentioned before, Dark-type is "Evil" in Japan, so they wouldn't work as opposites. And thirdly, types don't all need opposites. Most of the types don't.

I myself like the idea of a "Digital-type". I think it opens up a whole new world of attacks and pokemon ideas. I invent new fakemon as a hobby, and I have 15 Digital-types at last count, plus the Porygon family, showing that there are a decent amount of pokemon to be created with this typing.

Super-effective: Dragon
- I just think that Dragon should have another weakness. I think the reason that Gamefreak don't introduce more interesting Dragon/??? types (No Fire/Dragons, despite traditional dragons being firebreathers, only two Water/Dragons, one a legendary, etc.) is because they don't want overpowered Dragon-types. Every single fully-evolved, non-legendary Dragon-type except Kingdra has a 4x weakness to Ice because of this. Give the Dragons another weakness, and we can enjoy more diverse typings.

Not very effective: Poison, Grass
- This is to buff up the underpowered poison-type, and the Grass-type's poor defences.

Weak to: Poison, Bug
- Again, buffing up some underpowered types. The logic behind this is poison=virus, and computers programs often get bugs. Shoddy logic, I know, but that goes for plenty of type match-ups.

Resist: Electric
- For no other reason other than it makes sense. There aren't really any overpowered types, leaving me struggling to think of resistances.

We dont need a new type, but i'll live if they add a new type. the poster above^ Digital type...not a bad idea.

Well it be cool if they add a Crystal version of Onix. Every since the crystal onix episode i wanted a special onix like that. (Aperrentally it not going to happen)

I don't like the thought of a digital type, because it would seem too much like digimon.
Digipokemon

Digipokemon

I don't think so. They would still come out of Pokeballs and not Digiwatches or whatever they were. (I vaguely remember watches, I haven't watched it since I was 8)

Bah, it's hard enough now for me to remember all the strengths and weaknesses so I can teach my team the best moves possible. Any more types would be awful for that reason. ):

I don't know, I don't really see a reason for new types?

Why add more? Psychic, Dark, Electric, and a couple of special abilities is all you would need to recreate an epic battle between Jedi and Sith Pokemon. :)
