Wow sweeties, I'm LATE! Guess who got a PS2? =p

    Well sweeties, I finally got a PS2. XD Well seeing as though I'm a Nintendo fan and have little to no knowledge of PS2 games, any recommendations, sweeties? XD I'm open to all genres.

    By the way I have:
    Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2
    Jak
    Street Fighter Alpha collection.
     
    I'm very much a megaten fangirl so..
    Digital Devil Saga (1 and 2... but if you're only going to get one game get 2!)
    Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne
    Persona 3 is good... has a J-Romance game aspect, some people like some didn't.

    Hummm.... other good games would include Intelevision lives, but only for the cheesy music and intellevisions and Shark! Shark! (Jk, it's a really weak game!)

    If you don't mind dedicating a good portion of your life to a game, any of the Disgaea games are good.

    For FPS's I really like Time Splitters 2... most people don't.

    Fatal Frame 2 is terrifying if you like scary games.

    And the Katamari games are pretty fun
     
    Wow, it's a blast from the past. I abandoned sony long agobut you've reminded me of the good times my PS2 provided =]

    I havent touched one in two years, but I remember finding Final Fantasy X an awesome game.

    You probably won't be able to find it but Gitaroo Man is a pretty good game. Another one is Dragon Quest 8 good RPG game.

    You got a PS2? The world is ending. XD; Well, my recommendation list:

    Tales of the Abyss
    → Great story, characters, gameplay, everything. Get it if you can find it)
    Final Fantasy X
    → If you're into turn-based RPGs, this is a good choice. It has a veeeery clichéd plot (what JRPG doesn't? XD) but not bad. Probably a must-have on the PS2 anyway. :(
    Final Fantasy XII
    → Awful story (or none at all, take your pick), boring characters, but I'm still recommending it because the gameplay is pretty fun. :D
    Katamari Damacy / We ♥ Katamari
    → Get it get it get it get it get it. It's weird, but it's so SO awesome.
    Okami
    → You probably already have it for Wii, but if you don't, try to find the PS2 version instead. It's identical but without sloppy Wii remote controls. XD

    You've already listed Kingdom Hearts so those would be my must-haves. I am an RPG fan so the list is rather biased but... the games in other genres I do own... haven't been played so I can't recommend them. :P

    Other games that are generally regarded highly:

    → God of War
    → Persona 3
    → Dark Cloud 2 (I love the first one but most people hated it--this is apparently much better)
    → Shadow of the Colossus
    → Psychonauts
    → Disgaea
    → Ico

    Look 'em up and see if they pique your interest. I own a fair few of these but with the exception of God of War and SotC, I haven't touched them yet. XD I just plain sucked at both of those but they are good games, from what I played and what everyone says.
     
    I can't tell you all games because I have so many PS2 games, but I'll tell you the ones I remember right now.

    - Kingdom Hearts 1
    - Kingdom Hearts 2
    - DDR: Extreme 2 (very fun game :D)
    - Disney Golf
    - Smackdown v.s RAW 2006

    That's all I can remember right now.
     
    Would you mind me suggesting PS1 games, since PS2s run those as well?
    Well either way: Colin McRae Rally, Medal of Honor (the original the first MoH is the best one of the series) and Wild Arms.

    Edit: I would like to second Kohei's Zone of the Enders suggestion, and add the following games to my list: Call of Duty Finest Hour, Commandos 2 and Sub Rebellion (how could I have forgotten this one D:).

    Wow, thanks sweeties. XD Anybody got any platformers and fighting game suggestions? XD My roommate has plenty of RPGs I could borrow.

    Interesting recommendation from the sweeties that suggested Raw Vs. Smackdown 2006. Is it really good? The last wrestling game I played was No Mercy and Day of Reckoning. XD

    The storyline of it, is pretty good and still has Eddie in it. The matches of storyline is good, for normal matches. It's okeyish but, it's fun if you put no DQ or no countdown to 10 XD But the game for itself is good to play for PS2, I would think possibly recomend to get this game.
     
    Lawl, ima sell my Wii and all it's stuff and buy an XBox 360+PS2 when they get to be $200USD (Sept 7 2008)
    So, what ima get for my PS2:
    Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3
    Tales of the Abyss
    FF 7-12, but not 11 (I hate MMOs)
    Katamari
    God of War
    Diseaga
    And if you do some mods or something, I recommend you get Melty Blood: Act Cadenza and Fate/unlimited codes for PS2.
    And all the other Tales games I can find =D
    Also, I don't know your/PC's stance on piracy, but you can do softmods on a PS2 to allow it to play backup and imported games fairly easily. And I only say this because some of the games may be hard to find since they're old, and you may want to play something Japanese (Or maybe put in the Japanese audio for some games. Sometimes the dubs are horrible-See Tales of Eternia (Tales of Dreams II in America, but since there's a Japanese Tales game called ToD2 I call it that)

    As for any platformers and or fighting games, I'm surprised that no one mentioned the Ratchet & Clank series and the Tekken games.

    For my choices of what games to get... I don't think you'd like to get any of the Grand Theft Auto games or gran Turismo 4.

    HEAPS of hours of fun with tis game specially since it has so many characters to choose from hehe. Personally i prefer a 2 man team consisting of Haohmaru and Ryosuke (the only 2 i am good with =.=) And choose Terry as a filler hehe...

    I don't have a PS2, but on my shortlist would be Kingdom Hearts, Katamari Damacy, and Shadow of the Colossus.

    If you don't have Okami, get the Wii version. Widescreen and progressive scan all the way. Plus Wii controls. Right now I'm glad I never bought a PS2 to play Okami, so I hope it isn't the same for the other three titles on my list. :p

    I have yet to upgrade to PS3, so PS2 is still my video entertainment system.

    good fighting platforms are my kind of games. get the street fighter collection as it has the old school along with 3rd strike

    King of Fighters 06 and Tekken 5 if you like 3D fighting
    As well as any other King of Fighter thats like, 01, 02, 03, etc etc.

    Arcana Heart and Melty blood for your anime fix of fighting. i liked those alot.

    and other must haves is definitely God of War. someone pissed you off on the forums, you play god of war and boom! anger is gone. lol
