this Sucks. i was talking to my friend (he works for cingular) he said that the big cel lcompanies might drop T9 (predictive text option) from the options on the next generation of Cell phones because the Cell companies think that people don't actually use T9. Personally i like T9 alot, so i really want it to stay on the next generation of cell phones. He said increasing the page hits for the T9 site would show that people still use T9. Anyway if you use T9, want to do me a favor or would like to keep T9 on the next generation of cells visit their site located here (just a page hit helps): https://www.textfast.t9.com/index1.htm I simply ask that you help by giving them a page hit so that i can keep the feature on my phone.

Errrr sure why not, I just use my cell to talk and thats all

Well, if it doesn't make them a profit, I don't blame them. That's how business works, lol

I use T9 on my phone, just because I like to be grammatically correct when texting and it's quick, but it's hardly the end of the world if they get rid of it.

I have that on my phone for ages, I'm not bothered about it though. It's good but it can be annoying when you put in words that they don't know.

ya its not the end of the world, but i really would prefer that they keep it on there, i would probably not text at all unless i had to if they droped the feature though...

If you like the feature, why can't you just not get a new cell phone if they won't have it?

well eventually people have to upgrade cells (cell phone dies/ gets lost) and i would prefer itto be on there when that happens.

I hope this feature IS dropped, since T9 rarely predicts my text accurately. Not to mention the fact that the future generations of cell phones will be integrated more and more with computers.

A lot of cell phones now have a mini keyboard.

Cell phones are a form of technology, so I'm going to move this to the Tech forum.

    As for the topic at hand, I use T9 whenever I'm surfing the 'net or blogging from my phone and it would be annoying to not have it there. But like Revo said, chances are when this is obsolete and no longer used, there will be a more efficient way of texting. o_o;

I like T9 but I can't delete words from the dictionary and it would be nice if it moved the words you use more often to the top of the priority list. The odd thing is that when I tried to put in "Kisschasy", before I added it to the dictionary it came up as "Lipsbiasy". What on earth is "Lipsbiasy"?

with me it moves words to the top of the dictionary based on how commonly i use it.

That's what I'd like. What phone do you have?

its actually not about the phone its about how updated your T9 is. I am pretty sure you can update the T9 on your phone. -check the site. i havn't done that yet, but i think you can.

Sounds like it's a patented technology and that soon the patents will not be renewable. I rely on predictive text input, so ew.

Oh- T9 is predictive text, you probably have it on your phone. Its sorta odd how few people know that T9 is on theri phones.

oh, whats a 3g phone? 3gig? so the dictionary has an enourmous database? that would be crazy.

3g phones are 3rd generation phones. Many phones should be exceeding 3GBs of storage in the near future though. A 1 inch 12GB HDD could be slipped into one, or some NAND flash storage should bring a large jump in storage.

And on this note, nVidia is creating graphics cards for cell phones that should bring PS1 graphical quality to them. *dreams of a SKIII emulating FFVII while storing a sliver of my absurdly large music collection*
