I know he wasn't half bad in past gens. But I know he got a lot of insanly weird moves in this gen. I just want to know how to make use of him, and what are some thigns he can be used for?

I know his Typing is very sexy for walling, but unlucky his defense stats are just "meh"

    Thx in advance

ah! xatu, one of my favorites.

well i use it a starter in the following way:

    Xatu @ Focus Sash
    Naive/Hasty Nature
    Ability: Synchronize
    252 SPD/88-164 SP ATK/88-164 ATK
    -Psychic/Drill Peck
    -HP Electric/HP Fighting
    -U-Turn
    -Thunderwave

basically used for paralysis on the first turn, then immediately use u-turn. later in the battle, you can bring it in against a will-o-wisp or thunderwave to inflict that status on them as well. it's not that hard of a hitter this way, but i've completely destroyed strategies with this simple set. either go with psychic + hp electric or drill peck + hp fighting for best coverage. psychic + hp electric for skarm/gyara/gengar/slowbro, and drill peck + hp fighting for ttar/weavile/heracross.

you could also go with a choice scarf set as well as both choice specs and choice band, and maybe a support set (wish/thunderwave/roost/reflect/lightscreen).

it's not the strongest, definitely, but it's definitely versatile ^.^

Grass Knot is ALWAYS an option for this Pokemon. With luck, you should be able to score a OHKO on any 4x grass weakness Pokemon, as they tend to be heavy.
