For people who just want some quick scripts it will sure be helpful.
But i dont think it will help to learn scripting.
I myself am a professional scripter (i really mean professional, i earn money with it. not in the emulation scene but with php and javascripts) and i figured out that the only way to learn a programming language is the "learning-by-doing" method
even though tutorials and documents are very helpful, you still have to try out stuff and experiment with them in order to really learn them.
 
Well, learning them is the best way but... if u learn too much, u will actually have headaches and ur grades will fall...
So, it is a OK tool.
