I like the first set better, but how about protect over either HP or Shadow ball, so you can get the speed boost on turn 1 so you will be guarenteed the sub on turn 2 (and consequently, the sub breaking)

tried that already and it doesn't work, because reversal even at 1 hp fails to OHKO anything I've met so far. Currently, the only Yanma set is the hypnosis compound eyes set.

Yanma -[speed + / sp.atk or atk -] @ lum berry {Compound eyes}
EV: speed and atk/sp.atk
-hypnosis
-signal beam/psychic
-hp flying/giga drain
-shadowball/HP special

Feel free to throw in supersonic anywhere.

even Scyther can at most do 80-90% damage... and you expect Yanma to be even better than Scyther in attacking?

Even with liechi berry its attack power is only 270 or so... o.o; don't expect so much from such a relatively low powered reversal without STAB to be sweeping so easily.
