    Hey people, I'm training a Yanmega up, and I need advice on it's nature and EV spread and Moves and item etc. I was tihnking maybe

    Yanmega@Choice Specs?????
    Rash/Modest Nature????
    252 Speed 252 SP.Attack 6 Sp.Defence?
    Detect
    Hypnosis
    Air Slash
    Bug Buzz

    Modest Nature
    EVs: 252 Sp Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
    -Bug Buzz
    -Hypnosis
    -Air Slash
    -Protect

    Protect to activate speed boost, then sweep. Hypnosis a threat and switch out to a counter
     
    I don't understand the difference between protect and detect...
     
    There is nothing really different between them... animation and PP is the only thing i can think of (besides the name of course)
     
    it gets walled by 2 of the most threatening steel types anyway (skarmory and bronzong), so HP Fire/Fighting is really the better way to go.

    nonetheless, i wouldn't suggest using speed boost for the ability. Color Glasses is a much better ability, which a lot of people fail to understand.
     
    You mean tinted lense? I fail to see why that is a better ability???
     
    because no matter what switches in, Yanmega can use a STAB Attack at full power, which is perfect cus you could 2HKO Skarmory with Air Slash, and do unsuspected damage to the biggest threats. tinted lens completely makes up for its horrific movepool.
