I don't know if anybody else has noticed, but when I hatched out a 2km egg a few days ago, I got a Ratatta and my last 2km egg was a Zubat. I don't mind because it gave me enough candy to evolve a Golbat, and the Ratatta was 340 or so CP. Has anyone else noticed this?

Also, the biodiversity appears to be drifting back to preHalloween levels. I try not to feel disappointed. I tell myself to keep walking, though the last few nights, cold hands were a real hindrance to enjoying the game.

I know this letdown is intentional. If I want more and better creatures I need to use a lure, but lures are scarce resources and need warmer days. It's a long way to the next level, and I'm always out of Poke Balls. I know this return to scarcity is also intentional.

Niantic is trying to convince me to make micropurchases. That's not going to happen. I tell myself to keep walking. I am not going to become a whale. Not yet.

It's something that's been undergoing research since July and it clarifies much of the assumptions made by veteran players.

I'm at the point where I hover near the Stops where I know I have historically picked up more 10km eggs. I went through a phase where I was collecting more 2km eggs than the rest because I was more interested in collecting Charmander candies for my main Charizard.

Species distribution across eggs and their locations is still an ongoing research. I would just suggest visiting PokéStops you haven't visited before. Or if you have historically found certain desired species in certain types of eggs, do your own tests and collect samples from those specific PokéStops.

The eggs are fine as far as I'm concerned. The 340 CP Rattata (This is NOT intuitive to spell) is now a fairly good size Raticate. My 1000 CP Raticate project is on track. I can't hit Zubats or Golbats in the wild, so hatching them makes me ecstatic. Their return is news (actually good news to me).

It's the distribution of wild Pokes and the cold weather that has me down. Eggs are a gift. Everything about Pokemon Go is a gift. 150,000 points is a lot of experience points in the worst weather. It's just plain daunting.

The up and down of the game with hype, extras, and then.... hurts. It's probably still playing me rather than me playing it. And becoming a whale is not going to fix this issue.
