Yeah, so... I built a new deck today! IRL! Yay!

Classic Machina Gadgets. R&R, you know the drill...

    Monsters - 20

    3 Machina Fortress
    3 Machina Gearframe
    2 Machina Peacekeeper
    2 Machina Force
    3 Cyber Dragon
    2 Green Gadget
    2 Red Gadget
    2 Yellow Gadget
1 Gorz the Emissary of Darkness

    Spells - 13
    3 Book of Moon
    3 Smashing Ground
    2 Solidarity
    2 Mystical Space Typhoon
    1 Dark Hole
    1 Limiter Removal
    1 Monster Reborn

    Traps - 7
    3 Dimensional Prison
    2 Bottomless Trap Hole
    1 Torrential Tribute
    1 Trap Dustshoot

I want to play Solemn and Mirror and other random staple Traps but I can't get over the desire to play 3 D.Prison - I mean it's just so awesome! RFG a monster! It gets over Stardust 100% of the time without any/much drawback! Also, I am a bit unsure about Solidarity, but it's really fun to play Solidarity... Gadgets become 2000+ beaters etc. and haven't afraid of anything. I used to run Fissures there, but Solidarity seems to work a little better.

    Extra Deck - 15
    2 Chimeratech Fortress Dragon
    13 Misc.

    where's your ancient gears?

You can do without Gorz really, that's what D-prison and Tragoedia is for, stopping and removing your opponent's monster when they attack. it also messes with solidarity, your better off running one Fiend than two.

Your running machina gadgets....without a scrap recycler? Gorz for Scrap, and it functions well with Tragoedia, adding cards to your hand while possibly also providing a monster card in which you can discard for the effect.

You can do without the fissure and add in future fusion for chimeratech mill, but its your preference.

im assuming 13 misc. are the synchros, but i don't think machina's have any tuners if im mistaken. but i suppose you can steal tuners via tragoedia plox

But otherwise, another solid machina deck.

Very nice. Solidarity is okay, I guess, since it makes Fortress so much more annoying to get rid of. How necessary is Cydra? He lacks some synergy with the rest of the gang. Even though you can Special Summon him nearly anywhere, he also lacks power unless backed by Solidarity. He's also complete bait for others to Chimeratech and wipe your field.

I lol'd when I thought of putting Shreddder (3 D's, what the?!) in here.

Cyber Dragon runs over Rai-Oh and hasn't afraid of anything. He also bumps heads with a boosted Laquari, and so requires your opponent to use resources to remove him. Rai-Oh is also a gigantic impediment for this deck, so Cydra is immensely useful.

Also, why would anyone not want to use a 2100 SS-able beater that's discard fodder for Fortress and doesn't waste your normal summon? If Cydra doesn't get removed by the end of the turn, you can simply turn him and a Gadget/Gearframe into Chimeratech before your opponent does. It's not hard. =o

As to Tragoedia vs Gorz, I would say that Gorz is arguably superior to Tragoedia in terms of battle phase defense... it runs over Stardust, while Trag cannot run over Stardust without 5 or more cards in-hand - as for having enough defense, this is why I have only 1 Fissure, and it would kind of suck when my opponent clears my field with cards once in a while and tries to go for game. There's not too much conflict with Gorz-oedia and Solidarity with my playtesting so far, but I'll see what comes up.

@Scrap Recycler: The day I run Recycler is the day I run Pot of Avarice in Machina Gadgets. That is, I will almost never.

I know that stardust is a huge issue for all decks, but that's why your running 3 D-prisons and 3 books of moon? The most people run are at 2 anyways.

Fortress murders Stardust hard enough as it is. Book and Prison are just solid 1-for-1 field simplification cards and removal. I'd rather not run triple Fissure over them. The purpose of the Machina Gadgets deck is to accrue advantage and simplify the field to beat your opponent to death, and I would be going out of the spirit of the deck if I removed D-Prison. As for Book, this is the format of quick synchros and Trap Stun/Royal Decree, so having quick-play defensively good Spells are important.

Alright, new tests have been done... this deck performed admirably well against Lightsworns and Blackwings, but I am somewhat scared of Sabers, because this deck basically dies to Sabers easily.

Some edits were made. -1 Tragoedia and -1 Fissure for consistency.

    I say
    - 1 Trapshoot
    + 1 Mirror Force

Dust trapshoot, lost massive power when Heavy Storm got banned, since everyone is pretty much setting their hands freely, not being afraid of being heavy storm. Sabers, Infernities, Blackwings, Shoot is useless against them, Mirror Force is a safer bet, and most likely won't be a dead draw when you use it.

On the contrary Trap Dustshoot has proved to be more useful than Mirror Force on numerous occasions, spinning away bastardous threats such as Mr. Judgment Dragon, Mr. Dark Armed Dragon, Mr. Gale the Whirlwind, Mr. Honest, Mr. Faultroll, et al. while Mirror Force has always been a fairly subpar choice due to the prevalence of Stardust and Starlight. I mean you can stop a Stardust synchro using TT when your opponent summons a Tuner, but you can't do anything to Stardust itself. Dustshoot isn't much of a dead draw and provides valuable disruption.

In my locals, everyone goes trigger happy setting backfield freely, so Dustshoot lost power in my meta. Middle-late game draw its very terrible top deck. Yes, it can stop Judgement, DaD, Gale, but mostly DaD goes early games in BW decks, Salvo Decks, Gale goes early games too, if they have black whirlwind set up. Judgement Dragon Honest kalut is pretty much the consistent target of Dustshoot, since they be staying mostly in hand until the right play.

Yeah, see, this is the thing. People in my meta don't set all their backrow or overcommit because they fear BRD. It's different for each meta, and probably Mirror Force would trump Dustshoot if it came to that in your meta, but Dustshoot plays better where I am.

That's true, well people in my locals are like prepared for BRD using solemn, MBAAS, BTH and other stuff. But its a tech choice really. But another suggestion if you have the card is Solemn Warning, its pretty much a staple against deck that special summons.

I feel that Solemn Warning @ 1 is worse than Solemn Judgment @ 1 because of consistency issues...

Maybe Solemn instead of Dustshoot. Hmm.

Well I played with 1 Warning since thats the only copy that I have.
You can side deck it against deck that swarms. But either way both Solemn will help your deck. Well I have another fun idea, I used to combo Dustshoot with Mind Crush, you can try it and see if it goes with your liking.

Cool and inconsistent combo. :s It's cool, but Mind Crush is typically a better tool vs. Blackwings, Lightsworns, etc., i. e. decks with combat tricks.
