I just had more thoughts on this topic that I'd like to share.
While somebody calling me "weird" never bothered me, the term "normal" has always bothered me. My mother says things like this about people all the time, how they're "not normal" along with the implication that they need to fix this. "Weird" is sort of benign in my opinion, but the concept of "normal" is incredibly judgmental.
